Cripple Cap in Microsizer pro
I just got a Microsizer pro the other day (ya know the one w/ turbo boost) and I am looking for a cripple cap in the car or the transmitter. I've looked around for answers, some people say yes, some say no, and I still haven't seen the pic on the location... Any comments are appreciated.

I've removed the crip cap from one of my Microsizers, and it didn't do anything, and if it did change it might glitch worse. I believe it is not there to cripple reception, but to absorb interference.
Honestly the only 'crip cap' that seems to matter is the ones in the controllers of later Bit Char-Gs, and I wouldn't waste my time with the one on the PCB of Microsizers.
Have you tried untying the knot from your antenna, and running it out the back of the PCB, instead of under, over the PCB? That's improved my reception adequately for me. There's more than 2 inches of antenna stashed under there.

Ok..I think i did it...
I yanked the cap with a fifteen watt iron today.... It went great.. the cap is gone (it wasnt the same size or in the same place) it was right next to the black component... ya know the one in the corner that is referred to in some of the mods. It didn't add much range, tho.. Maybe one or two feet if that much.. it might not have been the crip cap. I think the real problem is that crappy transmitter antenna that winds up....Telescopic here i come...

That sounds about right. That's the way it went for me on a couple different cars. It probably gave me a foot or 2 if it did anything.
So I think you got the cripple cap, and you're probably on the right track looking into a longer antenna for your controller.

I want to try the 9v mod, too. I won't need to use the charger anyway, it's custom now ( BTW- My car is a microsizer pro board in a zip chassis with 2 cells, mosfetted, and with a 3.8) It sounds fairly easy, just solder in the voltage regulator and battery adapter for the 9v- heckuva lot easier than those 6 mosfets...
