NO NO NO!!!! A 1:12 gear ratio multiplys the motor rpm by 12, and that is the wheel rpm, k?????

oh forget it, it's no use persisting, and I am very mad right now, so I had better shut up before I say something nasty.....or I'll get banned. But then that would be a good thing wouldn't it?????

actually, 318mph is only theoretical. It is unlikely that it would ever make it to that speed. It would probably run out of range before it came even close. Don't forget, these motors don't have much torque, and that's what it takes to get to your top speed. A ratio of 1:12 is so high that I doubt it would even move because the motors are so wimpy.

i do realize that these motors are pratically torque less... but i think you all are forgeting that it has a first gear to, and i'm gonna use that to get the car up to a speed where such a great amount of torque won't be necessary, and come on people let's all have an imagination.... these things are supposed to be fun... p.s. i'm still working on trying to redesign the transmission... it's really kicking my ass... anyway everyone go try and have fun!!!

now, a 1:12 gearing multiplys the motor rpm by 12 and that is the wheel rpm. Also, if he put a 6 volt on a high rpm motor, THAT WILL GO FAST!!!!! And you are calling me stupid and imaginative for saying that???? That is not nice, and you know it. I had expected better of you.
for one thing the word "stupid" was never in any of my posts and NEVER WILL BE. and you should not be insulted for me thinking you are imaginative...i meant it as a total complement (look at the einstien quote in my sig line) a person with no imagination will go nowhere in life, because they see nothing but limitations. you are the type of guy who sees things beyond those limitations...and that is the stuff of inspiration. i hope you understand i meant no offense.

i understand your calculations and was commenting on all the nitpicking posts about how it isn't possible and it would go out of range etc. my post was meant to support you, not tear you down.

my apologies charlie brown.

well..... i'm sorry to say this but i'm gonna stop with this transmission thing, eventually i will build it but i doubt very much that i'll post it... no one seems to care much either way, and i'm quite frankly just alittle tired of people always getting mad at each other because they cannot appreciate another person's enthusiasm or vision.... it's kinda like the frickin U.N. here.. anyway everyone take care and try to remember to keep things fun!

crweedon don't quit your transmission project, I don't know much about modding zips and I rarely post but frequently browse and your project here seems incredible and if you could actually pull it off would be one of the coolest zip mods ever and you'll get a ton of enthusiasm from me. There's alot of idiotic posts in this thread but just ignore them, I think your project is awesome and I'm sure you can find a way to make it work..

Lol....Imagina a ZipZap screaming (well, it would most likely be like a whistle, or a zheeeehoooo kinda noise....)....then you start seeing smoke poring out from the engine, then spark! fire starts coming out of the rear from the engine....then SCHWOOM! the tyres turn into wheels of fire.....
The body melts to the front wheels....
WHCRACK! The tyres lock and the ZipZap flips end-over-end......Parts start flyin', pcb, body, axles, and wheels go flying...Worse than a sprint car race......
Lol...that would be soooo funnyyy

Crweedon, don't stop the project! Many of us are interested in seeing it finished. Don't stop! Not when you could create a cool mod that all of us want to see!
