Pencil Grip Tires?
I tried using pencil grips for tires and they work ok but the diameter of the tire had more of an effect on the car than I thought. Will changing the gearing to 12:1 help any? Or would a faster motor be better?
Thanks

you mean the tires are too good for the car and its too fast? well, 12:1 would make it slower, but a faster motor wouldnt help the problem. id suggest a SLOWER motor if thats the problem

What effect are you talking about? Does it get too fast or too slow? Going to a 12:1 ratio will decrease the top speed greatly. using the higher gears will increase the top speed.

no what youre saying is that 12:1 gets a higher speed. this is incorrect. lower than the stock 9:86:1, such as 8:25:1, 6:57:1, etc., gears make your speed increase. higher gears such as 12:1, 15:1, etc.,decrease your speed but increase your acceleration. and there is no need to call me a post-whore. i am trying to correct my over-post syndrome.

Where did I say that using 12:1 will get you higher speed? I said it would decrease the top speed greatly. When you say higher gear the number of the gear is actually lower. Low gears decrease top speed but increase acceleration. High gears increase top speed but reduce acceleration. Thru my many experiments with different ratios, different stabilius, I've found that the orange gears and the stock stabilius are usually the best for just playing around on your kitchen floor.

no you said a higher gear. i guess you have a different idea/meaning of what higher and lower gears are than i do. i think the higher the gear, the higher the ratio(12:1, 15:1), and the lower gear is the lower ratio(8:25:1, 6:57:1). but yeah, the stock gears are fun just to mess around with on a tabletop or kitchen floor.

I hate to say it, but mathematically I'm right, and you're wrong. A lower gear ratio is a higher number. A higher gear ratio is a lower number.
