Want to own a drifting RC monster!!

Hey guys,

I've heard that Kyosho Mini Z's have propo steering and that's the reason why they're $100USD+. But can anyone tell me whether these HEI PAO Mini Z knock-offs(there is atleast a hundred of these on EBay) also have propo steering? Link below...

I'm heavy into the 1/64 scale RC's, but I really want to be able to build an RC drifter! And I think the only way to do that is have an RC which exhibits propo steering.

none of the above have propo steering/throttle, anyone who owns a Z will tell you to get the real thing instead...

I thought we just covered that. Those cars are not proportional either. Look at the Tx. Painfully resembles the palm runner.

If you want a cheap Mini-z, go to ToyEast and buy the LXX clone. It is proportional, and is a Mini-z. Same moulds, just cheaper plastic. Shipping is like $30, but the car is only $28. If you can find a bunch of people to buy with you it'd be worth it even with the steep shipping.

Actually, your first assumption was correct. I am totally anti-clone but what can you do? Someone asks you where they can get a fully proportional 1/28 scale car for next to nothing. I would love to steer them toward a new job so they can get a Z, but not everyone can do that I guess.

I have had 1000 times more fun and satisfaction from my Kyosho Mini-z. I will not own another clone of any sort.

If you have a Mini-Z, you can add a bunch of washers under the kingpins and take out the springs. That stiffens the front, so in the back, put on harder springs and a stiffer plate.

Kyosho or no go. Stay away from the HEI PAO!!!!

The LXX I think is a little bigger. 1/24 scale over 1/28 like the Kyosho.

The radio alone on a "real" Mini-Z will in my opinion makes up for the price of the readyset. So overall it is worth every penny you pay for it. I've used the TX to run my Clodbuster with. Plus I seen other people use it on nitro trucks.

I buy from toyeast.com. I bought a couple of lxx mini-z's from them, 26 bucks ea. LXX like the LXX bit char-g/ I thought they were cool. They use all the same parts and have prop sterring. For those of you who have seen my other posts about my evo VI that was a lxx car. I burned up the steering servo and now the car chassis is just parts. The other car that I bought burned up as soon as the batteries were put in. That car goes only forward. I then turned aroung and bought three (3) Kyosho mini-z racers and couldn't be happier. I have spent somewhere around 600 to 700 USD in the past month on cars and parts. If you are a first timer, buy the lxx mini-z, crash, mod it, run tests with it. All the mini-z aftermarket parts fit. After you get comfortable buy the real thing. It takes no time to learn how to work on them. And trust me when you buy the real thing you will feel like a pro because they are 10 times better quality.

no actually they are extremely easier than a mini-z
because of the 4wd that way you would have more control in the front I've tried a micro on 2wd it just wont control good that way so i stick to 4wd

but still with a mini-z practice makes perfect

Actually, I've drifted a little bit with my Z. At the track, I had some really loose wheels on the outdrives of the diff and they were wobbly. Even on setting 5 on the dual rate, it wasn't had to loop out. A guy there managed to control a spinout with it and it became a drift.
