Sessiz10, not sure what you mean by wheel setups, but aside from a longer wheelbase and wider rear tires on the MM's, they seem like the same types...as for the motor, I haven't taken mine apart to check, so can't help you there, sorry, I cut/pasted my posts and another guys posts who did take one apart, if you make it to the other site, you can get the pics that he posted of the inner workings! later, david p.
Hey, you can email me @
nojodash@aol.com if you need the website addresses for more info on these!
hi all, MM RC's are hitting stores finally, saw them at Wal Mart, $14.88.....picked up the Orange 27 MHZ Camaro, my thoughts are as follows:
1. Controller-Very cool, mock tachometer/gauges and cool flame design; noticed the darker colored controllers are for the 27 MHZ cars and the 49 MHZ's are a lighter controller color. Also the red light on the controller lights up when buttons are pressed!
2. Charger is very cool, it is small and takes 2 AAs and the way it connects to the car is so so EASY, it is just a little round metal about 1/8" connector sticking up that fits into the hole on the bottom of the car, very easy and simple!! Once the car is charged and the light goes out (about 45secs), you insert the charger unit into the controller and then that is the power source for the controller, yay less batteries!
3. Car- Super nice, if you are a fan of Muscle Machine style cars or muscle machine type cars then you will be very happy, great detail, just like the diecast ones except these are a lightweight plastic!! Rear tires are nice and wide, fronts are smaller. Speed- very quick out of the box, I'd say around a 3.0 motor, not sure though! Handling- This was one problem for me, I couldn't get it to hook up on either of my tracks, it just kept spinning out, Rear Tires are too hard and have no grip! I fixed this by cutting a really thin strip of double sided tape and wrapped it around both rear tires and now I have excellent grip and it handles EXCELLENT; rubber cement trick would probably help also, or if anyone else figures out an easy replacement for the stock tires, let me know.
Overall, I'd rate these a 8 or 9 out of 10, very fun and fairly cheap... Another couple of things, to get to the insides, their is one screw to undo and then the body will come off..I heard that the Steering is unique, like it has a separate motor controlling the steering?? Not for sure though, 'cause I don't know the insides and outs of bits that well.... Also, read on the Muscle Machines diecast board that some people are finding, In and only in HOBBY LOBBY, two different colors of SUPRAS that are R/C!!! It was confirmed by Fred Blood, owner of OneStopDiecast and major bigwig with Muscle Machines that they included the Supras only in the Hobby Lobby shipments as a special release, so be on the lookout for them; Only a matter of time until we see some Muscle Machine Tuners and hopefully some Muscle Cars with stock hoods/hood scoops!!! Anyways, just wanted to update my original post!!! later, david p.
HERE IS A RESPONSE FROM ANOTHER PERSON:
Here is my 2 cents...
I played a bit with them. They seem to have the speed of a 2.0 motor. Pretty good response both for the gas and steering. They seem to like to spin out a lot, but that may just be my floor. As for the range, my kitchen is about 20' long, and it easilly goes across and back no problem.
The body is held on with a screw in the front and tab in rear. Removing the body and the PCB cover reveals......motorized steering! No wonder it turns good. Single blue battery. Charge in 45 seconds, I got around 4 minutes runtime.
The only problem I encountered is that one of the chargers kept on charging and didn't shut off automatically. Be carefull. All in all, I'm happy and see some modding potential here. I already got some ideas.
Here is a pic of the two different color controllers for the two frequencies. The charger has a pole that fits in the bottom of the car to charge, and then slips in the side of the controller to power it.
Here is a pic of the insides...notice the motor for the steering and the mini servo. Hmmm...I wonder what if I replace the steering motor with a 4.2??? J/K
