Hey, that 1:12 gearing is gonna have SUCH LITTLE torque but HIGH SPEED VROOM VROOM RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM heh heh heh.... Now, with a 1:1 gear ratio, you're putting out 1lb/ft (whatever THAT is, I don't understand......) but with a 1:12? Wow, that is gonna have your car struggling to reach the 144000 wheel rpm.....do you know how fast that will go? While you're at it, attach a 6 volt battery to the motor, and the car should go at like......WOAH, figure out for youself if he used a 34,000 rpm motor with that gearing.......Are you mad???? You're gonna set an unbeatable speed record!!!! Here is the formula:
Motor rpm/2 (for the load it's pushing) times 12 for the 1:12 ratio is 6x the motor rpm....and THAT's only the WHEEL RPM!!!! Wow.......now, take that and multiply it by 0.1....here is why I choose .1 to multiply:
now take 1 as the wheel rpm, and multiply by 4, then divide by 2.5 for inches per min, then divide the answer by 12 to get FPM, then multply by 60 to get FPH, then divide by 5280 to get mph, then you multiply by 64 to get scale speed.....and you have the number 0.0969696969 and on and on if you took 1 as your wheel rpm. Now that is the scale speed, so round it up to 0.1 and multiply THAT with your wheel rpm, then divide by 64 for REAL mph.
if you used 34,000 rpm as your motor, then divide by 2 to get the motor rpm while it's driving, then multiply that by 12 (since you;re using a 1:12 gear ratio) and you have 204000 as your wheel rpm (once you've broken in the top speed). Now multiply that by 0.1 (or divide by 10) to get your scale speed, 20,400. NOW, take that and divide by 64 to get............................................... .................................................. ...........................THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN MILES PER HOUR?????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????? HOLY COW!!!! THAT IS EVEN FASTER THAN A PORSCHE COMBINED WITH NOS!!!!!!!!! Wow, you ARE BRILLIANT!!!!! This is too much.....I......I.....OMG I THINK I HAVE TO.......I think I'm gonna bar------uhhhhhhhfffffff

Jeez Charlie, come off of it. He made a mistake, he meant 12:1 ratio, so he has a speed gear and a torque gear. I don't know why you're making such a big deal about this. Besides, how would a ZZ hold together at 318 mph? IT IS IMPOSIBLE!!!!! The fastest these little thing can go is about 15 mph without bursting into flames or something like that.

That'd be a cool bragging point though, you gotta admit.
"Yeah man, I modded my ZipZap so much that it burst into flames from going too fast!"
Well, maybe that'd be a good bragging point...

actually i didn't make a mistake, the old design was a 1:12, i fliped the blue gears around, but since i have to redesign the whole thing now it's gonna be alittle different, and i think that charlie is talking scale speed. anyway i'll chek back in and keep you all informed, i'm still working on the new design.
