I came up with an idea for a quad cell laymens mod. i didnt figure out if it would fry the pcb, or even fit, but here it is!

It would prob. fit in ZZ but you would have to flip PCB and then some lowered bodys wouldnt fit nice idea though

what voltage would you have for each battery? i think it'd be pretty freakin awesome, but it would make your car a helluva lot heavier. and you would have slow race times but long life.

First, for a bit, switch the positive and negative. They are on the wrong sides, unless that's a bottom view.
Each battery puts out 1.2 volts. So a quad cell would put out 4.8 volts.
It could fit in a bit, but you would have to cut/dremel a little room out (probably).
Unfortunately, a dual cell nicad would still be faster because it puts out more current (ma). I messed around with these batteries. For a dual cell (laymens) those little batts are a little faster then a stock and don't give it as much weight as a regular dual cell. Great for control variations. But adding any more then 2 doesn't really increase the speed all that much because you are adding weight, without adding enough current to compensate for the weight.
Yes increasing the voltage will increase the speed, but if you have too low current then you wont have enough torque to reach that top speed.
ALTHOUGH, it might be awsome in a mosfet modified car, because that lowers the resistance, witch will increase the overall usable current (torque). Somebody should try that.

ME WANT COOKIE!!
Well, how hard is a MOFSET (SP) cuz if it isnt that hard ill do it. So if i did that how many normal cells would it equal?
It'll be called the "Rob's tribute to laymens mod!" heh, i think that s the worst name for a mod except "penut butter rocking chair omlette mod"

mosfet power is mostly torque.........although a dual cell will win at a drag race, the mosfet would win the track races
weight is a big key, as with mosfets, their is hardly any change in the weight of the car
i would compare it with a internal dual cell :
mosfet>dual @ acceleration
dual>mosfet @ top speed
i have a fet'd internal dual cell car that is purely wicked. i have to keep repairing this monster due to the stunt driver in meh
i personally dont like the laymans mod, cuz the runtimes are extemely short, but i guess it would be great for drag races

you could just run a dual series dual paralell. kinda heavy, but still, 2.4 volts and double run time.
