strobe lights

anyone have a schematic for a small strobe light cuz i wanna make a police car and give it the fast blinkin lights like on many of the patrol cars

I found this in an old Radio Shack Notebook. It might or might not work for what you need. There might be new ICs now that can do more.

hmm, if i can fit everything in a small package and maybe stick a dc-dc converter to up teh input voltage to 5 votls, it just might work. thanks bro

Type, if you're gonna use a 555 timer to do this make sure you get the low power cmos version. The TLC555 Timer from Texas Instruments is a good candidate and comes is varying sized packages.

You could also use the circuit from my indicator lights thread without the extra switching transistors....
