free suspention springs
OK folks, I found a way too get free suspension springs for the front wheels. Go to a one hour photo developement shop. Ask them nicely for old disposable cameras that are normally just done away with after they've been used. Try to get alot, like twenty or thirty.
Next step requires you to be carefull!!!!!!!! I can't stress this enough. inside the cameras is a capacitor that will shock the living #$@% out of you if you touch the inside of the camera the wrong way. With a full charge it might even reset your heart (no kidding!). I recomend wearing very thick gloves while doing this operation. If you know how to discharge the capacitor, then make sure you do it after taking the battery out. Otherwise it will just recharge again. Also, when you are done with this, put the trash somewhere safe where nobody will accidently bump into it and get the piss shocked out of them.
Anyways, pop the camera open, so that the inside is exposed. there is usually one spring inside, close to the lens. If you don't see it, then look under the lens. Most cameras have steel springs, witch will cause problems with the steering magnet in the car. BBBUUUTTTT, about 1 in four have copper springs that will work perfectly. They are the perfect size too. Just pull the spring out, trim the the two loops on the sides off and stretch it a little. Be carefull when you stretch them. Too much Stretching will make them too long and screw with the cars control. Also, if this makes your car pull to the right or left, then try another spring, sometimes the little springs get stuck in certain places. This only happened to me once. Anyhow, I have a supply of springs now that will last me for a long time.
If you are inexperienced then get a parent or somebody that knows a little about electronics to help you. If you don't know what a capacitor is, just wear very thick gloves. I know about electronics somewhat, but I still wear gloves for safety sometimes. You never know when you might slip and accidently brush up against the wrong component at the wrong time.

You laugh, but I'm on a mission. My mission is to make mini cars that can kick a digi-qs butt in the cheapest possible way. My telescoping antennas are from old radios that people wanted to throw away. My tires are from ergonomic pen grips.
I don't hate digi-qs or anything. they're cool, but some of my freinds have spent close to $100 on them. I can't stand it when a company rips people off.

I did that, I just walked around at a school dance and shocked people with my camera. I shocked myself on one of my bones, and my whole arm shaked. It hurt like a *****

Guys!
Come on. The cap used for the flash is a highly dangerous thing, capible of holding charges of several thousands volts. so there have to be uses for it on the micro RC cars.
Swap the camera capacitor for the one under your PCB. More capacatance is good, and it's unlikely that the stock battery will be able to charge it enough to hurt your board. (try on cheap clone you don't like first though) If it works, you should have better acceleration. If not, you should put the fire out quickly.

I made mine with 1 AA battery. That hurt A LOT. My friends make them with 9 volt batteries. Imagine how much that would hurt.
Some other kid shocked me on the arm, and it was so powerful, my taser (I had it in my hand) flew 10 feet.
