Unhappy Problem With Steering Wire

Oh man, this one's got me stumped. Okay, my friend asked me to fix his MS Pro because it wasn't steering "right". So, I looked in and saw a copper wire (steering wire) ripped. Assuming it was taken from the PCB, I got my soldering iron ready and opened it up. To my surprise, both copper wires were intact. I searched the chassis and found that the wire had gotten separated in the middle. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this problem?

Just splice the two ends together.

ok take both wires and remove some of the coating (lighter, sandpaper, soldering iron all work) then twist the two ends together and now heat up the wire connection you just made and feed it some solder..... tada it should work now.

Once you do that, I'd start looking for how it happened in the first place.

Soldering paste makes the solder stick to where you are soldering.
