if you ever order the laymans cells from all electronics, then get some leds from there while you're at it.

lol, im flattered that i inspired you
(you know i DO have a life outside of micros you know )
actually i was out running around because the bank screwed something up and that needed fixed. and i had to go to walmart. and mcdonalds for ONCE they didnt screw up my order so this is a good day
as for the LED, it is a blue(obviously) 2600mcd, 3.7v typical, 4.5v max, 20mA, 5mm LED. if you do it the same way as i did, you may have a hard time fitting the porsche on the chassis. try the pt if this is your first time, it is a nice car, purple and that teal greenish that they came in look great with a blue under glow. i used a CR2032 lithium battery. if you want to fit smaller bodies on there and more easily, then get a smaller battery. anything that is 3v will do good.

no they arent rechargable, but lithium batteries last a long time and the current drain on these leds is really low(20mA). meaning if it was running on a tomy 200mah battery for example, i would last about 10 hours non stop. you turn them off by disconnecting the battery. you CAN attach it to the regular battery by just fitting the led arms on each ends of the battery, but it would just drain that faster and with the LED i used, its typical required voltage is 3.7, so im already pushing it with only 3v, in a stock car it only uses a 1.2v. my car has 3.6v but it would cut my runtime in half because it drains at 20ma, my batteries are 40mahs so i would see much shorter runtimes.

you dont solder it to the batteries. i just use wire and tape the wires in place. i find that putting some aluminum foil ont he end of the wire and wrapping the wire up in that and then flattening it witha set of vise grips will get a better connection because it isnt as easy to break loose.

no, work....
and just got back from burger king
you could try and fit 2 leds in there, but its not necessary. green will be much brighter than blue because blue and white are the 2 most voltage sucking colors there are. green will be mad bright as it is with only one. hold on to them and use them as back up... other wise send the extras to 1205 madras ct...... and get more than one nimh pack. order 4 to be safe. i ordered 4 and im almost done with them. you should replace the batteries every 3 monts or so because they lose their punch.
