Stand Alone Charger
I'm going to make a stand alone charger as seen on QFM.
I've got a couple of questions first ...
Is there a way to make a timer for the stand alone charger?
Either electronic or mechanical (like the one on the Bit Racer chargers).
I've got single 150 mah NiMH cells. How long should they be charged?
Thanks for the help!

- QFM just added a 90 Second timing capacitor. I'd imagine that should work with your stand-alone
- The Bit charger puts out 1.5v @ 1.5Amps for 45 seconds. That's intended for a 1.2v @ 50mAH rated battery...I'll let you do the math with the specs for your stand-alone and a 150mAH batt.
Good luck!

Thanks for the link, Namuna!
Radio Shack here I come!
I was going to do a battery stand alone, but after seeing Namuna's charger, I'm going with the plug-in! Awesome!
I'd still like to put some kind of timer on the charger. Can I still use the QFM 90 sec. Cap. for the plug-in charger? (Go easy, I'm pretty much electronically illiterate!)

Well I did it!
I made a plug-in stand alone charger like Namuna's (Thanks for the plans, Namuna! )
I works great. I still have to time my charges manually but I feel it was well worth the effort.
It might be my imagination but...
My cars seem to run faster and longer on a plug-in charge than a controller charge of the same length of time.
Make one and save the batteries for controller power!
I'd still like to make a charger with some kind of timer...

Total Cost
Shred,
Total cost for parts cost around $25.
The most expensive part was the power supply ~ $13.
I went with the Super Bright Blue LED which was a lot more expensive than the regular RED, GREEN or YELLOW.
I still want to put a timer on it somehow...

Uhhh....
50mAH/150mAH = 3
3*45 = 135???
135 seconds?
Did I just fail Bit Modification 101?
