Antenna Support System
I made a new inveintion
The antenna support system!
For people who untied the knot in the antenna & brought it around the back or just have a really long antenna. Put the Antenna Support System over the antenna & it supports it. Right now the Antenna Support System is just a piece of plastic cut from the inside of a BIC pen (were the ink was) It was a very old pen so it had no ink left in it at all. I did this mod because I don't want my antenna to wear down or pottentially break off since I un-tied the knot & brought the antenna out the back. What I may do for the future of this mod is glue the tube to the PCB cover & have it molded into one piece.

Few questions
1. Would you buy one of these?
1a. If no why not? i.e Not enough $$, not interested, sounds stupid?, just don't want one
2. How much would you pay for a pcb cover/A.S system (not inculding s/h)
3. Would you pay more if they were colored or could be customised to your needs (say what could be customized that you'd want customized) & how much more would you pay
4. Would you pay more for them to be shipped faster?
Thanks

I don't see the need for one. I simply clipped the antenna to the existing antenna clip on the PCB cover and ran it from there.
That is to say, it's run from the bottom out the back, routed to the PCB cover clip, then run straight up. I only lose centimeters of antenna length by doing this. It's secured to the clip and there's no danger of it coming unsoldered.
Nice idea, though. I'm sure some people will be interested.

It might have been better bits if you would have just taken a picture of the product you might want to sell instead of telling everyone how you did it, look at the cat 5 antena mod I saw a place selling "Customized Dual Wraped Antennas" the colors they showed where Blue/blue and white, orange/orange and white, green/green and white, ect. They were nothing more that the cat 5 strippe out of the sheilding. The thing is I work with network cabling and reconised the color scheme and thought hmmmm it's 2.00 for a twisted dual antenna that is nothing more that a piece is Cat5 solid core.. at the local electronics shop I can get it for .17 a foot.... I could have a twisted 8 antenna a foot long for 17 cents, so would I buy a 2.00 part that I know how to make for far less? .. hmmm I am thinking no. you should have just taken a picture of it and said what do you guys think or just told us about the mod... but that is just my opinion

you can also take a q-tip and cut the ends off that works fine.
what would you charge for a piece of a 10cent pen? ill buy one from you for a nickel.
at least you figured out that an upright antenna works better.

Cat5
I also work in a Network environment and just did a large migration from hub to a switched network which entailed replacing "ALL" the old Cat5 patch cords,I've got access to tons of the stuff, though it's stranded. I also have access to scrap solid core Cat5E and plenty of it. I also saw someone selling Cat5 antenna's. Funny thing is I offered to "Give" the first 10 that contacted me free Cat5........Got 2 responses! Those 2 guys were very appreciative. Enough to do 16 cars!

another note:
the reason routing the antenna from the back increases range is not because it makes it a little longer.
you get better range because it does not run over/under the pcb. all that circuitry gives off interference.

Dark T , I have noticed that unless someone has to pay for something they won't always do it.. that if it seems like to good a deal it might be thing I would guess
