These guys at Wondermat sell mat tiles at $1.62 per square foot. Still a little pricey? The idea is that you take each square and make track tiles as described above. Some corners, some curves, some...

This is getting ridiculous. You wanna fix a broken antenna, get some wire, stick it on. What kind? Who cares. Make it match the original. You wanna experiment with something, try it. If you get good...

I think there is some science to this that would say that the length is what is important. As noted previously, the ideal antenna is one with an exact length that is proportional to the frequency,...

Actually, someone in this thread suggested that idea way back when I was talking about the copper foil. I don't think they ever tried it though. Might be worth a shot, but you would still have to...

I don't think you will get much of anything by just wrapping a bit of copper around the existing antenna. The idea is to solder new copper wire to the circuit board, then coil the new wire in such a...

Pics on BDrift

BDrift has some pics from his dual Bit Char G. THe idea is basically the same on the ZZs, only you have more room inside the chassis for the extra batt.

Charging times etc.

Using the external power is a neat idea, but don't you still have to install bypass wires to the charge pads to charge DIRECTLY? I have not read the power supply thread yet, so I am not familiar with...

Dual Batt

I don't think I would really be excited about a ZZ WITHOUT a dual batt mod. The process is documented in other threads here. Do a search for Dual Batteries, or Dual, and you should turn up all sorts...

My point

My point was though, will there be items in Bejing? It's a huge city, so obviously, there are toy buyers. I was just wondering if anyone has seen them there.

these are from Japan, but what about Bejing, China?

I will be travelling to Bejing in 2 weeks. Should I keep an eye out for these things? Does anyone know if Bejing might have some of these, or other RC items?

Thanks. I did it by eye. Didn't occur to me to use a magnifier until after! Oh well. I have pretty good eyes up close, so it was not too bad, but I did get a headache. Now, if I couldjust figure out...

Oh, I should mention that in the end, both ends of the coild wire were at the bottom. One end of the wire was obviously easy, as it was free to unwind, but the other end was buried at the bottom of...

SUCCESS!

Thanks for the "returned merchandise" idea, but I don't really believe in doing things that way. Besides, I'd rather have the parts.

So, I did what you suggested, Nightwing, and I gotta tell ya,...

Okay! This is going to be fun. I have some time tomorrow. I will try taking it apart. What do I have to lose at this point, right? I will let you know, and take pictures at the same time. THANKS!

Indoors vs Outside

I think you will find that outdoors you have MUCH better range. Has to do with interference I guess, but outside, my car can go 50 feet or more. Inside, it's a totally different story. If you get...

refinement resulted in disaster

Well, after moving the battery inside the chassis, I broke the little black round thingy on the PCB. I know, it was stupid, but I am owning up to it and seeking help in another thread.

Parts needed! Help! I broke a black thingy!

Ok, this is a little sad and embarrassing, but last night, while fitting my second battery into the chassis, I snapped a little black round component clear off the circuit board.

This is the...

Basically, that's what I did. Just slipped tabs inbetween stock tabs and a battery in place. Had to insulate obviously, but I got it in there as described and it works fine.

The only problem I...
