Battery charging question
The epoch battery pack is a 120mah pack and the transformer for the charger charges the cells at around 750ma and shuts off at 180 seconds (3 minutes). Doing the math using
Charge Current( in milliamps) X Charge Time (in hours) =capacity in mAh gives only 37.5mah So why is the charger cutting off after only charging about 1/3rd of the packs capacity? Granted unless the car is completely discharged you won't have 120mah to charge but I would think that after running to the point where there isn't enough torque to give any forward movement you would have used more than just 1/3rd of the capacity. Any ideas? |
Are U sure the charger just do 750mA ?

I put an ampmeter in series with the circuit during a charge and that's what it read. The 9V 500ma rating is not very accurate when you actually hook it up to a digital multimeter. Voltage is actually 14V and like I said the amperage is around 750 during a charge cycle.
