AWD Question????

Why is it only three wheels spin when the throttle is applied?

00black_civic 03-10-2004 08:29 PM

Because you messed up somewhere. Check all the cups.

dolfan03 03-10-2004 08:49 PM

mine does the same thing the one front wheel doesnt spin or barely does

i think it might be something in the differential but im no expert. also which particular wheel doesnt spin? i had a problem like this but when i got the metal bearings i stopped having the problem.

striker289 03-10-2004 10:13 PM

If you know the car is clean, or just cleaned it and still have the problem, tighten the 3 screws holding the differential together.

duwain 03-13-2004 07:20 PM

hey mine just started doing the same thing. i thought it was the bearings so i cleaned them out real good but that wasnt it so then i thought it was the rim scraping the knuckle so i bought some washers at radioshack and i put them on and that wasnt it but that was ok because i couldnt even get the wheel to stay on unless i tightened the but reall tight until the wheel to even spin. i think that this is causing my car to turn to the left a little. its really annoting to me. i also put some gear grease in my differential. BTW it was my front left tire.

try loostening the nut that holds the wheel on that might work

duwain 03-15-2004 09:40 AM

ok i fixed it. i just cleaned out my entire car and cleaned all the bearings and stuff and now it works and it wasnt the tire becuase it still didnt spin when i took the tire off. thanks anyways.

People often overlook the importance of good maintenance, even in the R/C world.

good point. its been too many times ive seen cars smoking beside the road with a couple of college guys trying to see why their car is spitting antifreeze out of the overflow tank.
