What is the deal with the 2 speed option? what does it do? is it an electric boost or is it an actual gear? and do you need a special remote for it?:confused:

Yes you need a special remote for it... The special remote should have a small boost button that you can press. The two speed should be electronically controller, since there aren't extra gears... Hope this helps.

the picture attached is a 4 channel controller(with boost function) and a picture of a booster machine(it comes with clear skyline R34 body)
right now Tomy is offering 2 ready sets with boost functinos. its the new Z and the auto modelista set. they both have regular single channel controller. near the upper right side of the controller is the boost button.

u can run regular cars with the 4 channel controller in addition to the booster machines. so you just need one controller for all the cars you have. if you have more than one car

can you run booster cars with normal radio and just be on 2nd speed 24/7?

You can't run booster cars on the regular transmitter as the signal is encoded differently. However you can run regular Bit char-G cars with the booster controller.

The advantages of the 2 speed is that you can let off the boost button to slow down for the turns while still providing power to the rear wheels. Another plus of the booster cars is that the circuit board allows the motor to draw more current in boost mode, which makes the cars faster than comparably equipped unboosted bit char-g's. On the downside of the booster transmitter is that its range is very limited. With an antenna mod, some people have been able to increase range in excess of 20+ feet!

How fair is it to race the booster cars though? I mean, my friends all have normal bits, and I was planning to get the auto modelista set...But would it be fair to race with the boost chasis? Is it only faster when the boost button is pressed? so like, I would be able to race fairly and normally as long as I don't use it...

My understanding of the boost function is that it runs regular speed with the boost button depressed and a lower speed when let go. There's a switch on the controller to run with it always depressed.

What's the advantage? You can slow down and maintain some power for turns to give you better control. This will help you beat opponents in turns since they will have to let go and coast into turns which is slower.

yeah i just got three booseter sets with in 3 days....and yes they help dramiticaly in the turns.....the onlyt thing that I have noticed is that the battery seems to doe easy.....but then again they are new,,,and it takes time to for them to run longer on charges....

I have got the 4 band remote and a 35 Mhz booster and I also have the black celica regular bit, which is 35Mhz also, but the 4 band (booster) controller won't control the regular bit. I think it only controls the booster machine sets. I have the 45 Mhz supra and I will try to see if the booster controller works on it tonight after work and post a reply.

ulookin...you have to swicth your booster controller to mode a for it to runyour normal bits.....it located on the bottom of your controller.
