The Compatibility List
The common question with the clones/OEMs and such seems to be "Can I use any of the parts on my Bit"?
Let's make this thread the answer to that question, once we've built a solid base of informaiton...We'll convert this thread over to the Articles section. If you have any information to add, please post it here. Thanks. Let's begin (if you're unsure about any of the parts listed, refer to THIS site for a diagram): AtomicToys: Zcar: Bodies- No, too short Heatsink/Motor cover- Yes, 100% Motor- Yes, 100% Batteries- Yes, 100% Rear Axle- Yes, 100% Idler Gear- Yes, 100% Rear Tires- Yes, 100% Front Tires- Yes, 100% Stabilizers- Yes, 100% Radio Shack: ZipZaps: Bodies- No, too long Heatsink/Motor cover- No Motor- Yes, just have to keep adjusting till it fits Batteries- Yes, 100% Rear Axle- Yes, 100% Idler Gear- Yes, 100% Rear Tires- Yes, 100% Front Tires- No, too big Stabilizers- Yes, 100% |
More about the ZipZaps...
Steering spring- Yes Front Wheels- Yes, with modification In order to get my ZipZaps front wheels to work on my Bit, I had to bore out a little bigger of a gap in the holes where the Stabilizer Arms put tension on the wheel arm. Once the wheels are on, there's going to have to be some adjustment (or rather some Dremeling) of the Bit body (front wheel wells) to adjust to the new, larger front wheels. |
Namuna........i was wondering because of the larger tires of the Zip Zap on the front of the Bit char-g were there any problems of it rubbing on the chassis itself or only on the body???
|
Good question SPEED,
The answer is BOTH. The front wheel wells can be dremeled to allow for the bigger wheels though. When making hard turns and holding the steering in the direction, the wheel on the side of the direction you're going tends to get hung-up against the chassis. So more dremeling involved. |
Don't hit me
I think this may be a redundant question. Can bodies from char-g's be used on the microsizers. I was just wondering if the connections are the same. I also was wondering if you can just buy the char-g bodies like you can with the microsizers.
|
Deadite, yes, you can, they are exactly the same, MicroSizers is just the US name for TOMY Bit Char-Gs! :)
|
Hey i found out u can mount the ZZ wheels without any kind of rubbing (from the chassis that is) Instaed of using the ZZ knuckles you can just use the Bit char-g knuckles. This give you the extra clearence you need to clear the chassis. I AM NOT POSITIVE ON THIS but this is what i was told and i'm sure the guy is right because he has done it. So if you would like to mount ZZ wheels on your bit but don't want to grind the chassis try moungint them up with BIT knuckles.

d00kie,
No they aren't all that different (size wise). check out the comparions pics... http://tinyrc.com/gallery/album18 |
i was able to fit the ZZ motor in my bit with nor problem. The red motor has lots o torque!! I LIKE IT!!!!!
|
Has anyone tried the wheel mod using the zz's on the bits? If so did u notice any improvement overall such as steering?
|
I tried a 2.6 Microsizer motor in my zip zap... it' didn't work unless i pushed it to start it. do i need to do the resistor mod, or is there another mod i need/can do?
|
so do the zz motors have more torque then?

on the skyline...i had to shave the front inner fender slightly till the rims turn freely i dont think theres much handling difference...but it just looks and feels better |
Can someone PLEASE post pics f what thay had to trim on the Chassis

CLONE CHAR-G??
1 Attachment(s)
Clone Char-g??
dose any one know what parts from the clone char-g/bullet racer are compatible with the bit?? |
rmyc: Noticed you're from Corvalis, my wife is originally from Grants Pass.
I went to the hobby store tonite looking for a motor for my Z-car...it has a stock 2.2 in it right now and I'd like to upgrade it. Anyways, they seemed to think that the Microsizer's engine wouldn't work in the Z-Car....however at the beginning of this thread it says it will. Has this been confirmed??? |
this is a great thread - for the price the performance kit is worth a buy - to squeeze those motors in the poor char-g!
|
Hey guys i'm new to this forum and to zz/char-g cars. um i firts saw these things in the mall and i have the exact same brand that was in the pic above. i'm not sure but i think it is really similar to char-g's. basically what i am wondering is if n e one could tell me if all char-g mods and upgrade would work on my car or not. i dont know of n e places that sell upgrades for char-g's in my area but there are tons of radio shacks. ZZ cars seem to be a lot cheaper to upgrade and the availablity of the upgrades is very easy. basically i was wondering if u guys think i should stick with upgrading my car(with parts from this site) or if i should just go out and get a ZZ. my firends dad has soldering capabilities(computer repair tech) so my current ideal for a setup would be 2 NiMH batteries, axel kit, new tires and a 2.6 or 3.0 motor.
black knight- i noticed u live in MD lol. me 2 if u have n e ideas for places where i can get bit char-g up grades it would help a lot(i dont really want to buy a ZZ). i live in montgomery county and i dont have a drivers licence so closer locations would be useful. |
Paintballa: I live in Columbia, MD Howard Co. so I'm not too familiar with Montgomery Co. I originally wanted to buy a ZipZap but couldn't find a Radio Shack that had 'em in stock. Althought the Radio Shack in the Columbia Mall has upgrades for 'em. There's also a hobby shop in Columbia Mall that has $20 clones and $40 Microsizers, they also had some upgrade parts for Microsizers but very little. I ended up getting an Atomic Toys Z-Car from Discovery Store...and haven't found any place selling upgrades for it. There's a rumor that Arundel Mills Mall has a kiosk with these things and upgrades but haven't had a chance to check it out.
If I was sure it'd fit I'd just buy a Bit 3.x engine from TinyRC. |
yeah i got mine from a kiosk at lakeforest mall i had to deal with the guy cause he wanted to sell me 2 for $50 so i got it down to 2 for $40 with an extra celica body(it doesnt say it but it definitly is). my friend and i are probably going to get stuff from this storeeven though its peobably going to be more expensive.
man i love these things |
if you've got the same clone as the one i pictured in my last post, then the compatibility is:
motor: the motor is the exact same as a red turbo zipzap, and other zipzap motors fit.... the bit motor dosen't fit though.. every thing else interchanges with the bit, like : wheels, struts, car, bodytop etc i hope this will help y'all i still would buy the real thing. the one i bought has steering problems,. oh well, i got it for parts any ways later |
hmmm according to every thing else i've read the zipzap motor is bigger then the bits so bit motors work on zipzaps but zipzap motors take some force to work on bits. soooo... i dont know why bit motors wouldnt work on mine. anyway i hope that they fit cause my friend and i just put in an order today for some bit motors. o well thanx guys

ZipZap vs. Char-G clone motor measurements
Here are some measurements of a ZipZap motor vs. a Sen Fa Char-G clone motor...
ZipZap motor is: 6.04mm diameter 12.21mm length (total can length, not including shaft or contact) Char-G clone motor: 6.04mm diameter 12.14mm length I have had no problems using ZipZap motors in my Char-G clone. This may not be true with a "real" Char-G or MicroSizer. |
Ahhh, now I see the difference between a "clone" and a genuine Tomy motor. I just got a Hot Wheels K.I.T. (made by Tomy) racer from Target ($6), and here are the measurements of the motor:
Diameter = 6.07mm Length = 11.85mm I'm assuming that the KIT motors are the same as the BCG motors. The KIT racer also has a 50mAh Tomy NiCd cell. Someone please let me know if my assumption is wrong, as I am a microRC-n00b! |
ok all of this is from 1st hand experience with
zipzaps 3 different brands of clones and a zcar. motors are all interchangeable** bit motors tend to not fit perfectly in zipzaps and some clone motor wells. the motor is too short. if you put a tiny drop of solder on the terminal on the back. ive done this on 3 motors and it helped on all 3 of them. from what i can see clones are 99% compatable with bits. other than bodies zcars are totally compatable. (which can be remedied with an adaptor) the same goes with zipzaps other than bodies and front wheels. and zipzaps motors wont take over a 2.2 or so. i have about 10 motors now and by far my favorite is the oem motor than came in my "Thor" clone. thats about the only good thing about that clone. but ive tested the motor in 4 clones a zcar and a zipzap and it by far outperfomed tomy and zcar 2.6 motors. |
zz heatsink
I just thought I would add this little piece of info. In the begining of this thread it lists the zz heatsink as not compatible with bits. Well, yes it is with slight modification. When I recieved my new microsizer chasis and 2.2 motor I wanted to drive it right away. I noticed the chasis they sent me had no heat sink. I still had the heat sink from the zz tuner kit. So rather than robbing a heatsink from another car I tried to make the zz work. I took out the screw and with a pair of pliers straightend the tab down. Fits and works great. This also alows me to use the zz motors with less hassle. I'm sure someone already figured this out but it wasnt mentioned on this thread.
|
Does anyone know if the motors from the "Shen Qi Wei" cars will fit in a the microsizer/bitchar-g. They have a 4.0 motor for sale!!!! I was gonna buy it but im not sure if it will fit
|
Is bit char-g parts compatable with bensu mini racers?
|
Thunder Chargers parts that fit
motor- yes, although it's a hair longer than the Tony motors body- no, too long suspension bars- yes heatsinks- yes axles/gears-yes |
what other types of miniRC's have parts that are compatible with the bensu's (aka thunderchargers?)? i think i just ordered a bensu clone and i'm wondering what sorta stuff i can do to mod it.
|
hey what kind of mods r needed to fit a zz body on bcg:rolleyes:
|
I've got two bensu "cannonballs" and the rear axles don't quite fit. if you line up the oem and the tomy axles, the gears stick out a bit more. So the tomy axle gear grinds *ever* so slightly. GRRRR!
|
dumb question but, microsizers and bit char-g are like, exactly the same, correct?
|
Great thread it helps a lot!
|
Earlier in this post was a topic about ZZ wheels on a Bit. You don't have to shave your body with big wheels or ZZ wheels in front. Get a completely flat suspension bar from an OEM and stick it on. It raises the body from the wheels so it doesn't rub. I like how the wheels rub against the chassis so you have easier turns and a lower chance of flip over at high speeds which solves the high center of gravity when you have big wheels.

Thunder-X Micro Blast Racers?
My wife got me a ZipZap for Christmas, and I've been getting into micro-r/c since then. The local hobby shop in the mall has some Precious (BitChar-G clones) and some MicroSizers. I picked up a Precious already, and nabbed a Hot Wheels KIT car today at Toys-R-Us.
While at the mall, I spotted the MGA Thunder-X Micro Blast Racer in KB Toys. Does anybody have any experience with them? Consumer Reports seemed to like them. Are the parts compat with Bits? I'm sure that the motors are, but how about the bodies? bg825 b26 b57m b49m |
midget_man, yea, they are the xact same thing, just under two different names.bit char-g is the japan version, microsizer is the american version, and compact racer(or what ever it is) is the austrailian version. as far as i know, everything else is a clone, as in not from Tomy. and welcome to the board, dougal
|
btw, midget man, what is your avator? is that a dog in a t-shirt? or is it a ferret or what? EDIT** oh wait, now i get it(i just read you title above it) its your wrist, ok lol. it looked like you thumb was a arm, and you fingers were a head, but it fo some reason looked really messed up. my bad.
