Vastly improve on what?

RadioShack deserves a certain level of kudos for what they've accomplished with the SEs;
- Propo steering (not FULL propo, but still pretty darn good)
- Propo acceleration
- The Muscle Car bodies look GOOD (especially with the wide tire kit)
- All that for $15!

The closest competitor is the ill-fated Yokomo 'Puchi Maru' and if anyone is LUCKY enough to find it on sale it's still over $50 and the bodies look like something my dog left in the yard.

So I have to disagree, they've ALREADY vastly improved their product and I'm excited to see what's coming.

I have to agree with the previous post. I bought on of the yellow RX-7s when they first came out. It had the steering problem so I exchanged it for another one that worked fine until I dropped it down the stairs and the front wheel assembly broke. I have been away from Zip Zaps SEs for some time because of XMODS mania and Toys R Us Superslicks. I always thought the Zip Zap SEs were nice as long as you got one that worked well. I recently picked up a Starsky and Hutch Torino and a GTO judge at the current clearance price just to try them out. The Torino is working flawlessly so far. I have not tried the GTO yet. It makes you wonder what Radio Shack is up to when they are offering these fantastic cars at such low prices!

A few things…
- CJ, a reputable source when it comes to any info about Radioshack, has stated that he heard they’re discontinuing the entire line of SE kits (except for the Savannah and Torino).
- Azimov stated that a Rep from Radioshack said there’s going to be a new line of SEs coming soon.

When you piece the information together, it’s not hard to figure out that they’re dumping and discontinuing current inventory to make room for the new stuff. No info as yet to what the new offering is though

They are getting much better. But maybe they will get rid of the light feature to save weight. Maybe they will use better electronis that weigh less. All I know is that my NX motored medium gear ratio (So it atleast moves) will lose miserably to a regular completely stock Zip. It is built right in that it is faster forwards but still really slow.:mad:

a new line of zips.... so what are the current speculations as to what they will be? less weight as stated before would be a start. can we assume they will be the same scale (i sure hope they are)? i agree with namuna seeing that we have little to complain about for 15 bucks.

Same here. Gave $10 w/ tax for a ZZ 2005 Black Mustang (last one). Not sure whether to go for one of the Astons or not. I'd like to try an SE, but at bargain basement prices if possible. The XMod Firebird is calling my name but not at 60.

Well, at these 1/2 price levels, I had to pick up an Aston and a Corvette and Mustang past and present as well as a silver X Men! Should I go back and buy anything else before it goes up? I'm thinking of at least 2 more Aston's so I can slap other bodies onthe SE models and enjoy the ride!

The Aston I got was a little challenging (motor didn't sit right so I got no power at first), but I LOVE tinkering so it was corrected in a couple of minutes.
