Savior*insider The stock lug nuts are not a problem but it would be nice to have metal ones. Some people said that they thought the striped them or that they dont feel secure enuff. It would suck it one of your wheels fell of while going full speed. I dont even want to think of what kind of damage that would cause. Sure the cars are only 50 bucks but what if you put time into modding it out and your car gets smashed. Well that would suck major A**. |
hey guys the ones i linked to earlier work great they hold really well and i havnt had a problem yet. also most hobby shops have generic metal nuts you can buy in a pack of 4 i just checked it out today at my own and it was 75 cents with tax. altho the aluminum are noticably lighter.

yeah towerhobbies is good. I order some stuff once like 2 or 3 day before x-mas and recived it on the 24th, just in time. I was like wow so I use them for just about everything. Unless I find a better deal somewhere else or they just dont have what I am looking for.
btw thanks for keep us updated. |

OK, I got them the other day and they look and work great. The only problem is you have to find a nut driver to fit them. The Xmod nut driver is too big and just spins once the nut starts to get tight. Other than that, well worth the price!
|
I'm using a mini z lug driver. Works great and is alot better than the tiny xmods lug driver. Ofcourse it's a lil tight on the nylon xmods nuts, but good with these.
|
what size nut driver did you end up using to tighten it?
|
i dont think he did use a driver, look like in the pic that he used a gerber(leathermans are better ;) i got me a wave) so he must have just used the pliers on them, so in other words... use pliers...i think...but it was posted that they were 2mm so maybe a 2mm wrench would do it.

C'mon, 3 bux for 4 M2 lock nuts???
I can get them for 0.4 USD per piece, but I still consider that expensive... |
Yeah, I had to use the Gerber to tighten them once they started spinning in the Xmods nut driver. I will order the correct nut driver when I order some more locknuts.
|
Some cheaper, anodized nuts:
The orion nuts are $.77 each, the HPI are $.9725 each
Plated steel locknuts $3.55 for 10= $.355 each Aluminum locknuts in silver, blue, red anodized Ranges from $.40 to .80 each depending on color and quantity. -Anthony |
Hmm, some black lugs would have ruled. Oh well, off to the local fastener shop sometime this week to get some black ones if I can find em.

I used some mini z lugs nuts and they work great.
