What surface are you using them on?

xmodaddict: i wasn't beefed by your opinion, you're absolutely entitled to your own opinion and i respect taht, i was jsut stating how i felt about the wheels that came with the foam kit

fusion: i use it on my worn out 13 year old carpet. used to be the typical high pile carpet that was nice and springy....for the first year lol. now it's flat, some of the fibers will still stand up but lost all the springiness. i found that in a straight line, stock slicks work well, they grab hold of the carpet well on take-off but once i start turning, the foams seems to give better grip in that situation.

i tried a lil something, stock slicks up front, foam in rear, the rear dind't slide out but the front gave heavy understeer, so much so that i slammed into my coffee table leg. now, i tried the reverse, foam up front, stock slicks in back and my rear end kept comin out on turns while the foam tires were working wonders trying to keep it in teh direction i want to go.

overall, when it comes to turning, foam wins, but off-the-line traction, stock slicks are much better

Micro S2000 10-20-2003 06:05 PM

how much is the shipping? i would amagine pretty cheap i might have to order a set for me and my brother

Fusion 10-20-2003 06:09 PM

2mm lock nuts for the hpi micro rs4. The ones that dragon posted are cheaper in cost but in case they sell out here are the ones from HPI. I just noticed that the ones dragon posted are Silver Aluminum and the ones from HPI are metal. I guessing that the Aluminum ones are lighter in wieght, but any way here is the link.

I'm in the process of ordering a couple sets of each. I was looking at the HPI RS4 wheels......has anyone verified whether they will work on the Xmods or not yet?

dont' forget, shipping is about 8 bucks and i think it's a flat rate for a bunch of small items.

any completely metal nuts othere than these with nylon inserts?

Bad Company 10-20-2003 06:28 PM

I forgot to do it today, but tomorrow I'm going to go thru the machine shop storeroom at work and look for some.

I just ordered them yesterday, so I will not receive them for a couple more days at least.

i think you'll want to stick with a locknut (nut with the nylon inserts). the nylon acts as a locking feature; without that nylon, you'll have a hard time keeping the nuts on.

you mean the metal bearings? nothing at all. just that we're talking about the nuts that hold the wheel on the axle
