I've got two in my collection that are the original issue chassis. They're probably over two years old and work fine.
Of course, nothing works forever and depending on how much you use and abuse it would determine how much useful life you get out of the thing.
In other words, your mileage may vary.

I have three in my collection. The oldest working one is about one and a half years old. Azimov is right about the milage. It all depends how much you use them. I've had one for 2 years that I've fixed time and time again and has the most milage off all of them, and it finally quit on me.

Steering is almost always fixable. You just need to be able to do a 'tune-up'. If you read around you can find a steering fix mod and it tells you how to recenter and even give you a better turning radius than it had when it was stock.

I had the first one available in my area, so it's old. Yea the steering is dwonky because it's a Gen1 but I also have a Gen 3 that I've had for quite a while as well. but the steering is a bit jittery on it as well.

Do you have a link to the turning radius fix?

Thanks,

When I was down in Miami (in a spacious house with a large circular driveway), at least twice a week for an hour or two per session.

Up here in Crystal River (I live out in the woods), only about once a month (there's a local county park about 20 minutes from my residence, so's I don't get over there too often).

Anyhow, my Savanna has seen quite a bit of racing time, although, I do take *extremely* good care of my toys -

Maybe so, but if you add up the total time (especially when i was in Miami), and considering that the two in question (the Savanna and the Cruiser) were pucrchased within a week of their release date(s), they have seen QUITE a bit of runtime -
