New motor?
While browsing Walmart for something new in spinbrushes, I came across a small diameter model by OralB.
Cost about $5. so I got one and disassembled it yesterday.
The motor is something I haven't encountered before, slightly shorter than a 180, and smaller in diameter than the 180 cans. It is round, diameter bout like a majicmarker, and doesn't seem very heavy compaired to the x-mods motor.
I made a bushing to fit its too small shaft so's it takes a factory 8 tooth pinion, then installed in a completely factory 350Z chassis(ie. no bearings or extra cells). On 4 alkalines, it was a good bit faster than a stage 2 blue setup (probably around 12 real mph), and seemed lively and light. The steering was super responsive with its light weight, and the torque was quite a surprise. Hopefully I'll check her out with 6 cells tomorrow, but I need to fabricate a better motor mount (I essentially shimmed it in the factory bracket with tape for my test runs).
Anyone know what size or name there is for such a motor?
There is no name, just numbers : N60LA3X13
Dimensions are 1.25" total length without shaft, by aprox. .5"
Anyone else try one of these?
Take care,
warren

Try using the "attach files" option on the bottom of the new reply page.
