no limit???
okay while i was looking at my broken xmod pcb i thought of something. my evo goes 20 ish mph (im guessing) and it gives 7.2 volts so what if i created a circuit of like 6 9 volt batteries and connected it straight to the motor
p.s. to people who want to call me an idiot for thinking about this just dont post

The whole point of going through the PCB is so you can regulate the juice going to the motor. If you circumvent that, then you'd just have a constantly running motor, that was running at full speed.

yes but it would sure as hell be fast and to stop it youd literally have to flip the car on its back wouldnt you

Where's the fun in that? Speed without control basically defeats the purpose of driving RCs.
If you just wanted something to blast off as soon as you connected the leads and basically had no control...Well you might as well be into Model Rockets.

tru but how many fet upgrades would u need to handle that much
edit: just realized wouldnt there be ALOT of heat and possible melting if i did this and btw this is best for drag races lol

9V inherently cannot supply a lot of current. In a series circuit, only one amount of current can flow through the entire thing, which will be limited by the weakest of the 9V. I would also expect that any motor you could hope to put in an xmod would melt and short under that much load--bad things would soon ensue.

Yeah... There's people who are reeeeeally into this stuff, and they've tried just about everything. I find it's best to read what they've done and learn from their example.
One issue that has pretty much been laid to rest, is nine volt batteries. They don't work for this application.

yea lol well i had this thought after my friend told me the fastest xmod was 348 MPH and yes MPH supposedly once it hit that speed everything was melted and the brakes wasnt applied the xmod pcb just shut down
dont know if its tru but hell that would have flew if it was on the ground

Your friend is mistaken, unless he's talking about the Xmod he took with him on a commercial air liner.

Hmmm, they musta ran the thing at the Bonneville Salt Flats then. Probably beat the 1:1 scale rocket cars there too. And then, monkeys flew out of everyone's butts. Sorry, but that claim is SO outrageous, I'm surprised you believed him.

People have tried really hard and put a lot of work in to hit the 40mph mark. A select few have been able to break 50mph on a speed checker. Even still.... for something that small, it would be extremely difficult to pull off on the ground. the smallest bump at that speed would send that car flying.

Gotta be the stupidest thing I ever saw. See the operative letters in the title are RC. That's Radio Controlled, not tethered. This car is not controlled, nor is it radio operated. It is just a gimmick to claim meaningless speed. RC is about racing and skill, not watching a tetherball whip around in a circle.
