Fun, Free, Paper Models
If you are:
-Bored
-Owner of a computer
-with Acrobat Reader 4.0 and up
-a color (preferably) printer
-Like to build things
-Thinks F1 cars and Lamborghini's are cool
-has scissors, a hobby knife, tacky or white glue, and 8 1/2x11 cardstock
Then these paper models are for you! There are about 15 different F1 cars in 1/43 and 1/30 scale, and a Lamborghini Contach in Yellow, White, or Red, and a link to a site that has a blue one. I've built the Lambo, and it took me around 2-3 hours. Most of the time is cutting out the pieces, but building it is fun. You can use your built models to simulate crashes because the cars get realisticly dented up. Best yet, they're all free and you can print as many as you want to off your computer! Look at "Craft Processes" for building instructions. The site is in translated Japanese so it is kind of hard to understand in some places.

They look exceedingly challenging! Very nice when finished.

These are the answer to my empty shelf space.
Which reminds me, I have a couple of paris dakar trucks that are similar to these, but are in a kit made from card.

So did you build one? If so which one? I have a red Lamborghini that I only have to do the wheels on )in my opinion the most boring, time consuming part)

What are those?
I'm going to try one of the F1's when I have enough time (It will probably take me 1/2-1 week). The only problem is the cardstock I use is like almost all paper in the fact that is causes inks to "bleed". This is espesially noticable with black on white. So on the chassis plate I can't find the fold lines because the black ink bleeds over the 1/2mm wide white lines. I need some cardstock that isn't super-glossy (or else I would use photo paper), but is coated with something to make it more smooth so the ink doesn't bleed, and also will stick to tacky glue.

rally SUVs pretty much. I have built a F1 car before and it didn't have instructions. That sucked. I finished it though. I made it with paper so it didn't turn out too good.

Well, they do take a while (especially the F1 and/or your first try), but it is very rewarding when you finish. I am assuming you are building the lambo?

I found another website:
>come on in
>card model section
>toolbar: free models
>choose a model by clicking on the pic
currently i'm working on the Oct. 2004 version of SpaceShipOne.
This is going to take a while...
