On all the Pixar cars that I have, they came with the red motor.

Thanks.
Interesting, I wonder how they get an advertised speed of 1.7 MPH with a 21,500 RPM red motor?

My local RS got them in, and I bought a set. They're quite nice. They're on the Cars chassis, which I like a lot, and come with the red motor (square endbell), with the blue gears, just like the Cars zz's. They are very quick out of the box.
What's really nice is that the bodies are totally devoid of any Transformers markings, meaning that they look just like regular cars. Barricade is a 2007 Mustang Saleen police car, Bumblebee is a new Camaro, and Optimus is a truck purple with flames. The only Transformers markings are on the box.
The funny thing is the store had them out for sale, but their computer didn't have them in their system to sell, so they just marked them as misc merchandise. Hopefully, RS will continue bringing out new Zips every once in a while. I've been playing with my 1/18 RC's lately, but after I began playing with these, I realize how much fun they still are.

Has anyone tried the new IR (infrared controlled) Micro Transformers series of cars/trucks?
How do they differ from the radio controlled versions (besides the IR control) and how well do they control?
The advertised speed of 70 MPH (in 1/64 scale?) appears to be substantially slower than the RC Transformers and the Pixar series at 110 MPH (1.7 MPH actual).

Could we get a pic of the Optimus truck chassis without the body? I'm wondering how the dual axels are configured on the back.

I was too busy buying the action figures today, but tomorrow maybe I'll stop by RS and grab a Zip Zap or Xmod or IR racer or something.

That is correct. The rear wheels are on the body of the truck. It's a standard chassis. It's nice though, because it helps me out on turns, on my slippery pergo floor.

BP has a few other teaser shots and some info on them.

It sounds like they're the "cars" chassis, right down to the cripple-resistor on the motor lead. I haven't picked one up yet to verify, but despite the interruption of production, they sound like a direct continuation of the base ZZ line.

Looked at the shack couple days ago and they didn't have any of these yet. They still had a couple of the Pixar cars though. I'm gonna check again in a day or so.
I think I might get one of the semis. It just looks like something to tinker with. I'm not really interested in the police car or camero.
I must say, the trailers for the film look freakin awesome. I'm hoping there will be an equally thrilling storyline.
