i will get one shortly.

you can use the kyosho ics loop with generic transponders using 3rd party free software or the core analog loop with generic transponders and corespeedway or 3rd party software.

from what i've read and seen of the home edition, it's stinks. it's great for the absolute basics but thats about it.

Home Edition

Not to highjack, but we use the Kyosho home edition at our shop and it works great with zround. Awesome solution- has never missed a lap yet. I also have giro-z and core hardware. Home edition reminds me of the core system.

As for the v2 transponders, we have them for mini-z. I would not recommend them for dnano. Good luck putting them under a windsheild!

As for other options- I know that Realtracks is working on a single car laser lap counter. Maybe that would work for you?

you can use the Kyosho IC Tag Lap Counter + Mini Z IC Tags... we're still having issues with missed lap counts but i believe that's a symptom of the sensitivity of the hardware and the need for a PC with really high specs to pick up all the data. we're planning on resurfacing the circuits at nanotrax with a seamless solution which should resolve the problem

flipside reported that the kyosho ics loop requires very close proximity to the transponder where as the core analog loop has a good 6" of signal depth so it may be that the signal strength of the ics loop was cut down. this could account for missed laps or the fact that the weaker loop signal may be the culprit?

i've noticed a brand new version of the IC tag installed on the DNC410 chassis. this might address the issue but i'm still waiting for the 'skeleton' for those dnano owners who still have the old model of the ic tag.

Is it possible to purchase the tag on the underside of the chassis and if so how much. I received a used DNano and it does not count laps....

unfortunately, no. you'd have to completely replace the main frame assembly which costs just as much as a full CCS (assuming you can find one at all). many of the IC Tags on the first run of dNano were just worthless and couldn't be picked up by the lap counter which is what brought about the evolution from light blue --> dark blue --> now to white. in testing, the dark blue was more sensitive so i can only assume the white will be just as sensitive if not more.

i've requested a 'skeleton chassis' without electronics since last year but kyosho has yet to release this and have no plans to do so anytime soon (info directly from my distributor). until then, you'll have to just pick up a 'chassis only' and use the main frame included in that to replace the one that doesn't count.

they are picking up these for <50 cents each with the volume they are likely buying them in. not making them available at a reasonable price is simply wrong but it's kyosho. there attitude is take it or leave it really. RFID tags are dirt cheap and there is no reason they cannot sell them individually.

unfortunately, its not only the IC tag that needs replacing... its the plastics that can get stripped rendering a main frame assembly worthless thereafter. i'm sure they'll make the skeleton available eventually but i think quality control is a primary factor in their releasing many of their products. why release a 'skeleton' with an RFID tag that might not function properly? they'll release it when they believe what they've released will have almost no defects reducing returns and increasing buyer loyalty (jmho)

yes, but it would be so much cheaper and easier to release individual transponders and get the skeleton chassis tweaked on it's own time vs. holding up everyone on both ends. i'm simply not a fan of requiring the purchase of the chassis simply to replace a transponder. it's a huge waste of resources for the manufacturer and money for the consumer.

you could always just grab a Mini Z IC Tag and find a way to replace the one on the dNano we're on the same page as i think there should be more affordable, more convenient solution, yet i'll take an objective standpoint as well and consider the obstacles for an OEM in the 2nd year after product release. lots of things that could've been done better but hindsight is 20/20. hopefully they'll come up with something that will satisfy consumers and meet their requirements as a company at the same time

i hope your right. a sticky back RFID tag would be perfect.

has anyone posted a picture of the v2 Giro-z transponder installed on a dNaNo?

Hi!

Isn't there a sticky version of the tag for the F1?
I know they sell the bumper with the hole for the new tag but with no tag on it.
