Update for the Atlantans.
This question about racing in atlanta came up in another forum. Well someone talked to the guy at Hobby Town in Duluth and he is going to allow us to race there.
They guy that is setting this up is out of town this weekend but I'm sure we'll get somthing going in the next two weeks with meets there. I'm gona talk to the hobby town buy myself, and see what the details are. We may have to make our own track or someone bring one in. Even if everyone made a portable track, we could race on different tracks different nights.
I'll keep ya posted when I find out more! Looks like the ball is rolling and I'll have to stock up with more micros >:-)

Were still working on getting a meeting set up at Hobby Town Duluth Ga. Viper I know you had some cool ideas about racing different classes. We'd like to hear them.
Were thinking Saturday, though Tim hasn't gotten back in touch with me. If he mails me back and says yea sat. is a go, would anyone else be interesting in meeting us there?
We need to talk about buiding a track or tracks. I would like to see more than one kind, for different kinds of racing.
Let me know via email

Or you can post here

Hey there Georgians. I know this thread is about races in Atlanta, but are there any other racers in the Savannah area? I have a nice track in my garage ready to go. It's on a 4x8' piece of plywood and has about 35' of track 9" wide. Abyone near enough to get a race going?

Atlanta
I am new to this forum.
Just finished with Micromazda talking about tracks. We can meet at Hobby Town with further scheduling.
Anyone with a track ready to go?

Hey all, I've mostly been into mini-z's but I have 3 bits. I just found this thread & I think it would be cool to get everyone together. I'll try to make it out somewhere when you guys set a time up or something.
I live down at Ga Tech in Atlanta (near the varsity, everyone has to know where that is! )

Micromazda and I have shared thoughts on tracks. We are in development of a portable track system. When we agree on it, etc.. we can post some guideline for people to assist with in adding pieces and such. A modular system would be great.
As far as this being in the ZZ section is cool, however in addition to my ZZ I would like to race my microsizer and clones.
I know some people might object to racing 1 brand of car against another, if it flips however the user should be out. Speed Kills-sometimes.
Another thought is if we have bump style barrier instead of walls and you cross it you get time penalized.
The key to a track is good control and maneuvering second to speed and acceleration.
A date has not been set for the inaugural meeting. This weekend seems to hectic for people in and out of town.
Drop an email or join our nightly chats on tracks if you are really interested in kicking this off.
