very cheap Li-ion cells

go to www.allelectronics.com and look under batteries and click under subcategory Lithium-ion and they have a battery pack with two AA Li-ion cells in it for $6.50 all you have to do is crack open the case they are inand there you go. Plus they have a charger for it for $4.50 but you would have to modify it to charge our cars. There is a whole bunch of things there for cheap at thrt site.

I already went that route. That's a great price for li-ions, yes, but those cells are huge. The dimensions are 2.5" x 0.75". You won't be able to fit them without mod'ing your chassis, and even then, your front wheel won't be able to turn without rubbing on the cells.

Here is a pic of a cell comparison, to give you an idea.

From left to right, RS AAA Ni-MH, Energizer AA, www.atomicmods.com li-ion, Panasonic CGR17500 li-ion, and 4 sony US18650S li-ions which are the ones that are inside of those li-ion packs from www.allelectronics.com. Much too big.

http://www.batteryspace.com does have the li-ion cells that are sold in 2-cell packs at www.allelectronics.com, but for $25 for a 4 cell quantity. I paid $13 at www.allelectronic.com and just cut them out of the packs.

Why are you selling them? Are you going to be selling li-ions in the future, or were you just experimenting with the CGR's and found out the same thing that I did.....they are a little chubby for any more than 2 cell installation?

Yup. Just an experiment. I ended up using a smaller diameter for my Li-Ion Kits.

Was just reading this thread and found a good place to get those Panasonic CGR17500. $6 each, so buy from xmodspeed first, but still not too bad I suppose.

http://www.sabahoceanic.com/lithium.html

One thing I haven't seen is the discharge rate on these, when you say they don't do high discharge jshwaa, you mean like 1 or 2C?

Also, any advice on a charger if I were to try these out?

I'd be using these on 1/24 scales (see sig.) with 180+ sized motors. 2 cells.

Thanks in advance.
