yet another possible li-poly cell option

Check out these cells:

http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=1246

They are 11.1v, fairly CHEAP, SIZE is 1mm wider than li-ions, 5mm longer, and 7mm taller (taller shouldn't make a diffeance) 60 mm X 21 mm X 15 mm, WIEGHT is 36grams which is 8grams less than a li-ion set up

I know many of you are gonna look and see 450mah and run away saying that it can't supply enough current BUT these cells are rated at 10C! That's 4.5A! Now that would mean you would have a run time of about 6 min, but if you're drag racing or racing for 5min races you should be fine. You also have plenty of room for a second pack in series to get 9A of draw or longer run times.

Let me know waht you guys think

PS

This one would be awsome if you can fit it (63mmX27mmX16mm)
thats really not much bigger but it does weigh 52grams. It is good for 11.1v, 700mah and 7A by itself!

3cell lipo is not really practical unless you're running brushless. Seems a lot of people use custom electronics to run extreme voltages, but I think they should look to replacing the stock electronics with some hobby grade stuff first. If you've ever seen a 1/12 run on 4 cells, you'd understand why I say that

10C is pretty solid, but newer cells (especially for the smaller mAh like you're looking at) are higher than that.

I've heard great things about http://maxamps.com but I haven't used them myself. Their 380 cell is rated to ~20C or 8A burst (34mm X 50mm X 2mm per cell), and the 900 is ~15C and 13A burst (34mm X 50mm X 4mm per cell).

Any and all of these should blow away the basic li-ion solutions that EVERYONE sells for xmods. You might try batteryspace.com if you want cylindrical li-ion cells, they have a few options, one is ~18x50mm and discharges 3.5A with a capacity of 1400mAh or so.
