best motors for speed
i have read a lot of posts of people having trouble with the 3.0 motors and was wondering if the spec-r or the 3.8 also have the same problems. can i use the same stock gears (9.86:1) with these motors or do i also need to upgrade these.
has anyone tried the motors from DKS http://www.driftkingshop.com/drift_king_shop.htm
and if so how do they compare with that of the bit-motors and the tinyrc motors.
or is going to radio shack and buying the ZZ nos and turbo motors the best bet. any suggestions would be great. i just recieved my bits today... i want to make my super slow skyline, super fast.
skyline gtr set
skyline gtr R34
Subaru WRX
Mitsu. Lancer Evo....
oh yea and a couple clones that the dog has chewed up.
? ? ? ? ? ? ???

i have read in several posts in this form that the users have to nudge the car to get it to go. or it might not go at all.. i dont know why maybe they got a bad batch of motors

oks, i think u might have misread...
3.8's are the motors that have the most problems
i had a 3.8 for 2 weeks and it died...well it didnt die, but now its slower than my 1.0
the 3.0's made by tomy is the best bang for the buck

I have both a DKS 3.4 and the R-Spec. If you want sheer speed with tons of torque, then get the R-Spec. I really like the DKS 3.4 it's an awesome motor too. I have also had my 3.4 for about 2 months now and I run it every night. It is still as fast as when I first got it.

I had problems with my 3.8 when I first got it, but after looking though the forums I found out you have to break them in first. It does make a big difference. Charge up the battery, install the motor, let it run a minute or two before you run it on the floor, track, etc.

I currently own a 2.6 and a 3.0 motor. The 3.0 motor has problems (just like many people's). It doesn't start unless i give it a nudge, and it stops every so often unless i give it a nudge. The 2.6 is a lot more reliable and isn't that much slower than the 3.0. I'm getting another 3.0 maybe i'll have better luck with an Auto Modellista set i'm getting. Heard it'll be good with the boost function. If not i'll probably be ordering an R-SPEC. I have another bullet OEM car which seems to go as fast as my 3.0 motor and doesn't have any problems.

Bitmod1 3.5- best motor ever. I just change my gears for carpet, and tap the turbo button to keep my car on the ground

3.4
Guys, since you like the 3.4, we just released an Upgraded version of it with more torque and top speed. We need to do this to keep up with competition! It's called the Darkside "Mega Tune Version" check it out!
