My tricell works.... well kind of. It charges then it goes but it goes rather slow and it runs outa batteries right away. Any ideas why this is happening?

...if i'm not mistaken ( witch i might be ) the Laymans mod does not have the same results as a bit with 2 cells ....if u got some cash 2 blow go get 3 watch batts. put some tape around them and pop them in your car...tho u will not be able 2 recharge them your car will SCREAM...

Smurf,

Like ridealot100 said, you'll have to build a custom charger using a battery pack (AA's) or an AC-to-DC adapter. I use 4.5v 500mAh also. If properly charged, a layman's tri cell will be as fast as any dual cell using standard 1/3AAA batt's, but it will not run as long between charges. However, it will be more controllable since it has much less weight. Any one who has done a dual cell will tell you that it is not very good for driving on tracks, just for drag racing or messing around since you spin out so much.

If you really want to have some fun, once you get the layman's tri cell working, ship it off to microamps to do the mosfet mod. It's a great low-weight combination!

Good luck.
