Make UR car go STRAIGHT!
I have a 3 cell extended chassis bit, and it would keep turning to 1 side.
So what I did was spin the rear wheels using the controller, and lightly held the abrasive against each rear wheel, 1 then the other!
The car goes really straight now! AND remember, tricells dont usually do that!!!
SO try it on ur bit n c what u think!
For my abrasive i used a dremmel cutting disc held in my hand NOT USING the dremel, just the disc.
The disc is not the metal one, but the dark red/ brown thin one.
POST UR RESULTS!

so basically you roughed up the tires so they had more grip. Then 1 tire wouldnt spin more than the other and cause it to veer to one side.
right?

Thats exactly it!
It is all easy to forget the basics sometimes.
Traction is why the cars can move!
If it isn't equal on both driving tyres, then it won't go straight!
All I did was rough up the tyres!
BEST way 2 get a good roughness, is to make the motor spin the wheels, then hold the abrasive against the tyre while it spins!

They don't need to be rough rough, just take the shine off the tyres!
U will notice that the tyres will now get loads dirt on them! Thats cos its working!

eman 1 and anyone who say that sounds like a bit has a ball differential a soild axel making it impossible for one wheel to spin more than another. It's not nice to trip up a newbie
see ya on the flip side

Not sure what ur on about Styder, tripping up a newbie?
But What i was saying, is that it appears that 1 tyre was getting less grip than the other, making it go 2 1 side.

strider-I meant he roughed then up so one tire wouldnt slip more than the other. And yes, my tires can turn seperately from each other. I'm not sure if this happens while I'm driving, but i know they can spin seperately in my hand.
And please use some periods and capitals so i can actually understand your post.

That just sounds like a good way to start hundreds of tiny tears in your tires, ending their lifetime sooner. I recommend using tires as hard as possible in front, and with as little tread as you can get. This way the wheels which would cause the skewed alighnment don't grip and hence don't push you off course.

I dont think the tyres will get loads of tiny rips in them, all we are doing is lightly rubbing them down, so they loose their sheen.
If I had a better digi cam then I'd take a close up pic n u would c that no rips will start there.

The tyres are still smooth, not bumpy, all u need to use is a very fine abrasive!
Not a rough one, or the tyres will start ripping as u said!

Yo gain a little more traction sand down the wheels to keep the tires flat on the ground. this really helped my 2 cell track strait.

also extra weight over the rear axle helps. a dime weighs 2.3grams and seems to be about right. look at my 2 battery stability thread. now i burn out on slick floors and go straight.

If your tires spin independently from each other, then when you accelerate, only the tire on the side with the gear is putting the torque to the road, and that will make the car veer to the right. Try pressing the wheels onto the axle harder. All my Tomy axles developed this problem within an hour of running them, but pressing the wheels on harder solved it.
No, the wheels don't bind on the chassis.
