sounds pretty funny. I attached a rocket to a matchbox car once and it flew down the street(before hitting the neighbor's car)

Well...I guess if you wanted to?....but wouldn't the rocket melt the chassis? just a thing to consider here...

It's just gonna flip over, melt, and burn. The weight of the car is'nt enough to keep it's wheels on the ground. The first bump you hit will be your cars demise. I like the matchbox idea. When its done you can do it again with the same diecast car. Good luck though, but I think you've seen Jack Ass to many times.

I think a rocket engine, even an A size, would be too much power for a car that small. I would recommend taking the rocket from a bottle rocket (the tiny ones) and putting that on the roof. That way you wouldn't melt your car, and it would still be in the same state when it finally came to a stop. But then, it may very well trash your car. I recommend trying it with a cheap clone, like a $10 bullet clone.

I've had alot of experience with attaching rocket engines to toy cars. From my child hood.
I mostly used Stompers, which are larger than bits, and plastic, so from that experience I can tell you, if you attach a model rocket to your car, it will get airborn, your car will melt, and it will be spectacular fun. Even if you just use a bottle rocket. You might as well use a bottle rocket, because then you would at least have the cool explosion at the end.
If you do use a model rocket engine, you better attach some kind of fins for guidance, or you just better start running when you ignite that engine, because you wont know which way it's going to go. It'll probably spin wildly. Maybe put some lead weights in the car to keep it on the ground. and make some kind of airplane like rudder, to steer it, and you might be in business.
I'll agree with Hatchet_Dan. Wish I had videos of some of my little "projects" that I did when I was a kid. You know if you make a line of gunpowder, and put a big pile at the end, it doesn't go all slow like in the Roadrunner cartoons? My friend burned off his eyebrows, and I got lucky.

Heh, when I was a kid, a friend and I duct-taped a 'D' size rocket engine onto a plastic model of a Blue Angels jet. Of course, being a plastic model just for show, it wasn't balanced or aerodynamic, and the damn thing chased us around and nearly took our heads off
Fun!

ive allready attached rocket engines (size B) to a matchbox. I taped it onto the roof, lit it, and it shot down the street. You're not gonna beleive this, but it actually left skid marks! It didnt get airborne, even after going over numerous bumps. I would reccomend trying this cuz its a hell lot o fun.

use a booster car, and hook the booster up to the igniter. Start with an A motor and cut it in half. work your way up , and build a heat sheild

Most of my old StarWars action figures were shot into the next county when I was in High School.
Oh, and D-size rocket engines make great bottle rockets. Just superglue a stick to the side. And you can aim them with a 3' section of PVC pipe. think "Bazooka"
