Blew out a 2.6

some how my 2.6 stopped going as fast as normal it lasted for probably 4 weeks. it now runs atmost as fast as a 1.0. Is it possible to burn out a motor?

Coolmanmj,

Yes, it is possible to burn out a motor. In fact, every direct current electric motor will burn out eventually. It really just depends on how much you use it. Where did you buy the 2.6 motor?

I got the motor from you a while back. The thing lasted a long time. It was a really good motor sorry to see it die.

Also what is maximum voltage the motors can take?

Thanks

Coolmanmj,

All of our motors are rated at 1.3 direct current volts. That is a safe voltage level. Anything above that can cause the motor to burn out prematurely. If you'll send it back to me, I'll replace it for you. It should have lasted longer than 4 weeks.

Yep, the dual cell will drastically shorten the life of any motor. I myself have a dual cell car, but I know that when the motor blows I'll need a new one. You can send the motor back to me at:

Kyle Clemmons
P.O. Box 244
Brownsville, KY 42210

I'll send a new one out to you as soon as your blown one arrives.
