another annoying stupid clone question

Are the lxx charge clones any good?

I made a collossal mistake and ordered a bit with the same frequency as my zip for my brother i need to get a car thats NOT 27 mhz and spent most of my alotted "Toy" money on the zip I only have like 15 bucks left to spend and am finding all kinds of cars on ebay just wondered what you guys suggested as far as if i had to get a clone??

I noticed the lxx had a similar package to the actual bits and wondered if they may be close to the same quality

Yes, the Lxx are supposed to be pretty good clones. But, clones can be great for one person and terrible for another. Do a search for lxx on this site and you'll find lots of testimonials.

I have some Huale clones (come in a box like the Lxx clones) and some Fit Racer bullet clones and the only one I have had a problem with is the 57Mhz Fit Racer clone. It's probably just a poor antenna connection in either the car or the controller, but I haven't bought a soldering iron yet to redo the connections. All the other clones can go at least 15' and probably 25' right out of the box with no mods.

Well, just to let you know, LXX cars do have their issues.

Click me and read the news on right hand column datad 11-30-2002

I got this in an email from microrcimports.com. Basically, if you own a LXX car

Quote:
What this means for the car you have purchased:
1) If your LXX car is 27MHz (Xanavi and Calsonic models), you will be able
to control all the other LXX clones within a short range. From my
experience, this is within a 12" radius from the controller.
2) If your LXX car is a frequency other than 27MHz (Castrol, Pennzoil,
Loctite), your car can (and probably will) fall under the control of someone
else if you are operating near someone with a 27MHz car.

Please note that ANY 27MHz controller, and not just an LXX

from experience dont buy a "thor" bullet.

"super racing" and "cyclon-a" are fairly decent. they come pretty fast right out of the dome. all 3 clones i got seemed to be a little twitchy on steering until i replaced the magnet and lubed everything.

now the cyclona is perfect. even steering and it goes straight as an arrow for at least 10 foot.

my other working car is a cross between the thor and the super racing and is 90% operational and is faster. it seems lighter and looser than the cyclona.

reception on my 49 and 57mhz cars is 30+ foot. 20foot range with the antenna under the car body.

all cars including bits need rare earth magnets. they are $1.59 at radioshack.

I just got one of the cyclona ones and I'd have to say that the reception on it kicks my 350Z. The steering on it is what hogjowlz says it is and I'm gonna get the magnets too. The quality of everything does lack but for 25cnd very good deal.

I bought the Motor Works clone from WalMart and was very impressed. I own most clones. I don't have a Cyclona or Shen though. But out of the LXX, Precision-X, and Z-car, the WalMart clone had better quality, steering and speed. The range was amazing as well. Problem is I hear they're just as hard to find as Zips in some cities. My WalMart just started to stock them and they only have a few left. They have a sweet looking truck and SUV. I don't like the fact that they're yellow (SUV) and green(Truck), but the bodies are very nice.

Where can a person buy a cyclon-a, super racing, or motor works car that doesn't have a mall or Wally world to go to? If I wanted to try one of these clones out, I would have to get it on the internet. The only problem is where and how many frequencies do they have? I have four Tomy bits coming tomorrow.

Walgreens sells a clone, but I don't know which one or how good it is. My Walgreens doesn't carry them. Autozone sells clones to, but they're a big waste. Biggest piece of crap I've ever purchased. If you have four Tomy Bits coming, those'll keep you busy. If you're like me and want to own everything, head to your nearest major city. If buying online is a problem. If the nearest city has a Sharper Image, buy a package of those clones. I'm dying to hear a review on them. Mine won't be shipped until the 17th.
