Hummer with mods
Well it's not as quality as I thought it would be when I bought one. And the bump steering was out of control when the lift kit was installed but after a couple days in the work shop it came out quite nice!
The mods include lifting the body, streering knuckle arms added and steering redesigned to eliminate bump steer (works great), AWD, custom wheels made for larger tires, bearings, light kit, dyed parts, hop-up motor kit, steel pins in drive shafts and a FET upgrade. Next on the list is as much metal for the drive train as possible; gears diffs etc and some alum shocks.

Hi, Thanks. The wheels and tires are from the Newbright "Stomper" like trucks sold at Walmart and others. I carefully cut off the stock wheels hub part and the new wheels outer rim and CA glued them together. The wheel must be thinner than the tire so it will recess into the tire, otherwise the wheels have too much offset. I am very pleased with this set-up, not one complaint.
I'll post on the steering mod soon, need to get a good hi-res picture first.

Here is the hi-res of the steering mod. The little knuckle arms are screwed and CA glued to the knuckles and they slide on the smooth shaft little screws mounted on the steering link. You just need to trim the stock link like in the picture, even if the lift arms are used. Also trim the slider guide a little like the picture shows. Use some freehand and trim/file anyplaces that bind. Thin aluminum or steel could be used for the little arms too.

Here is a shot of the little dyed dog bones that came with the lift kit with the steel pins. I've been using the heck out of the truck and they are flawless!

Any more info on how to dye the parts black? Have you had any problems with the diffrential slipping? How did you lift the body?

Thanks! The body lift is awesome and allows it to work just like stock. On the body's mount I added HPI wheel washes and ~5mm alum sleeves to stand off the grey plastic latch mount. I had to use a large drill and create a flange so two flat head screws could be used and be flush, they must be flush!
For the chassis part I simply drilled matching holes in the little black mount and the top tab on the chassis front and attached with two 2mm screws. You could also use some CA if your paranoid but it's fine without.
To dye all the parts black took about 30-45 min of soaking and stirring in a glass pot with the water and dye near boiling. Be very carefull with the shock mounts as they can warp if they rest on the pot bottom for too long, keep it stirred at all times. Remove each piece and rinse. If not black enough toss them in for a little longer. The rear motor casing is very difficult to dye so don't expect pure black.
No problems with the diffs but I don't push any limits just fun driving.
