IC Tag problems - question
...two of my Dnanos, (older cars) skip laps and are thus unuseable with the Kyosho lap timing system. My Kyosho ribbon placement is good, all the other cars are fine and the track is less thick than RCP, so its not the setup — I have confirmed it's only specific cars.
Is it possible to add a core trasnponder or something to the bottom of the car? I really don't want to replace an entire chassis, nor should I have to spend that kind of money every time the somewhat fragile built-in tags stop functioning properly. Cars are not US spec ...so no warranty; just looking for a fix.

..that is certainly an elegant integration of the Giro-Z (at least that's what it looks like), but I was kinda hopping that someone is using/tested the CORE IC tags with the Kyosho timing ribbon.

What brand of Dampener system is on that 917? Look no holes and that has to be the lowest body in the line up of cars so far.

you would have to try the f1 sized core transponder and those are hard to come by. the standard size is much to large for a dnano.
i agree, the built in adheared transponder to the chassis is a good idea but these things can and do go bad and it sucks to have to replace the entire chassis to get a new transponder.
it would have been nice to get them separately like the mini-z models which are placed on separate bolt on plastic holders (bumper for the f1).
i just got the kyosho ic lap timer myself however i do not have any f1 size core transponders. i do have tiny generic transponders which i will try using with the kyosho ic unit and flipside software. if this doesn't work now, i'll work with fsr to see if we can get it to work.

Yes the f1 transponders will work with kyosho flipside combo.
I have 1 car that I tape the transponder on the bottom.

Hey, Ray. Weekends I'm free now especially Saturdays (kids have gymnastics pratice all day Saturdays behind whiteflint mall). Just pick a weekend your free and I'm there. I have 4 dnanos setup to race and have to control the urge to pickup more. Your welcome anytime to come over and run.

OK, I'm also running Flipside/Kyosho and like it a lot. So where can I find the F1 transponders? If anyone has a half dozen or so, please let me know.

you have to scour the 2ndary market or email michael to inquire if he still have them in stock. last time he responded on a forum, these were in limited supply and that was a long time ago.
fyi, they used to go for approx. $5 each when you could buy them easily.

OK, Sinister had some Core F1 IC tags that I was going to try, as per the suggestions on this thread. But when I saw them last night, they seemed way to big (about 45mm sq.) to fit on the underside of the dnano. Perhaps these were not the F1 tags, but rather the larger generic IC tags? (What is the measurement of F1 tags)?
Kenontap1, if you could take a picture of your installation, I would be greatful.

just fyi, here are some generic transponders sizes. the tiny one has been reported to work by some however my loop won't pick it up unless the car is on top of the loop.
