Nissan Fairlady

What's the range on them? And also, do they have internal PCB cripplers? or Remote controler Cripplers? One last thing, how much faster would one be then a regular bit with a 2.2 engine?

I just got mine. Range was about 8ft stock. I replaced the car antenna with a longer bit of Cat5 conductor and I'm up to about 18" max in a large room.
Gonna do the telescoping antenna mod tomorrow. Just picked up the part from Radio Shack.

Have not seen any Cripple Capacitors on this one. (57Mhz Booster Body)
or it's controller.

They are damn zippy with that little turbo button. A little hard to steer though when its on. Lots of fun though. So glad I got one.

I got it off of Ebay for $24+$8 shipping (airmail from Hong Kong.)
Good price I thought since Bits cost about $40 around here from hobby shops and it would have cost $36 or so at most online stores in the US and that was before shipping.

I got it from rl0725 on Ebay.

I used PayPal to pay him and he got it to me in about 7 days. I was very pleased with his service.

The cheapest place I have been able to find a Fairlady is on Ebay for $24.99 + $9 for shipping. But I can't find any of those auctions anymore... I'm going to try to find the guy who sold them and try to get some more, but until then, I'm out of luck.

Dam you peoples... ARGH! I have been waiting for those Zs to come back up, but its been like about a few days now... I talked to rl0725 and he said hes gonna be out for a month... But I'm pissed to how all those went out sooo fast! Da reason why I didn't get some when they were on was cuz I had to get my money into PayPal, which takes like years! So, just to let you know, Ima trying to be da first one to buy da next ones that come from those HK sellers on eBay.

Sweet! just bought my fairlady yesterday. Love the two speeds. Drawbacks, no chrome rims, normal speed is slow, and range is TOO short. I bought mines for 40 bucks but I got it on the spot, unlike some people who have to wait for the mail to come. On I also checked out the real Zcar in a showroom. The bit charg detail is superb. Just like the real thing, unlike the hot wheel version.

Just got my Telescopic antenna mod done on the controller of this Fairlady Z (booster).

That REALLY helped. I can now control it up to about 26 feet away. I'm into the next room and still controlling it.

The Car antenna mod added about 10' over the 8' I was seeing in a stock configuration (total 18')

The Telescopic antenna on the controller added almost another 10' for me.

Such a neat car if you can put a little work into making the range acceptable.

I used the controller antenna mod from http://www.questformadness.com and I used this antenna from Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...Fid=270%2D1409

Part # 270-1409A

Had to do some grinding on the antenna to get it to fit and had to cut a little slot into the controller for it to poke out through. Not too hard though. A little bit of soldering and I was good to go.

I -just- got one for 27.99 + 8.00 shipping off eBay. I saw one today at the race and it was too sweet so I had to buy one.

i have had my z for a bit. i got it for 23 bucks at the store by my house. if anyone is in the bay area (CA), the store is in the mall of the pacific where 99 ranch is. i droped a 3.8 in mine and it halls ass. but i want to get it faster. i tried a 3.0V upgrade using a alkline batt. but that didnt seem to do much. i wonder if there is a restrictor on the voltage... cuz it should smoke those duel cels. well good luck all. and i will have to try that telescopic mod.

Use 3 watch batteries, 386, and make a small 'battery cell' with them. That's 4.5 volts. Run it on a 2.2 motor and it'll smoke a 2.4v 3.8
