nope! You can only play Japanese games on a Japanese NGPC and American on an American unit. Despite that though I love mine! Even though it was pulled off the US market...blast them!

Good game selection, dude! I have sonic adventure and it's pretty cool! Wish I had metal slug... and king of fighters... So you're getting the american unit I take it? What japanese games are you wanting to get?

the last blade because I dont want dreamcast and I am too cheap to buy the neo geo console and the last blade cart

I also wanted to see if it was unilingual because snk is still releasing games for it and most have no language barrier

Are you sure? I have a US NGPC, I got it right when they first came out here, and I have Rockman from Japan, and it works just fine. Do they still make games for the JP version? I couldn't believe that they pulled it from the US market so quickly.

hmmm..honestly I'm not sure. I thought that I had read an article a while back that said that they weren't compatible but...could be wrong. Worst comes to worse you could just order the japanese game and try it. If it doesn't work sell it on ebay or to Tiny here.

As far as still making games for the japanese version...I have no idea, dude. I lost track of it after they started dissappearing of the US market. But I just went to all the snk web sites (offical ones that is) that I could remember or find and there's not a single one left. So I'd like to say yes but again I have aboslutely no idea.

BTW, strider, where did you buy your games from? I just realized there's a few games that I'd still like to get for the NGPC.

And this is a little off the topic, if you'll forgive this Tiny, but since we're on the topic of (as far as the majority of the consumer market is concerned) dead hand helds, anyone remember the Atari Lynx? I loved that one too! hehe

well I stand corrected! I just did a little more research and found that the NGPC is indeed universal (i.e. it can play import games as well). It doesn't translate the text, obviously, but it CAN play import games. So sorry strider I was mistaken...go ahead and order Last Blade and get me one while your at it!
