Interesting / Weird motor issues...Celica 2.6 vs. RX7 2.2
To the point....
I have a Microsizer Celica with a 2.6 motor and another "junk" Microsizer Yellow RX7 looking car ( i put it together from a bag of broken MS i received from a hobby store) that has a 2.2. Just to be clear 2.2 = greenish yellow 2.6= orange. Well my "junk " MS RX7 with 2.2 was SMOKING the hell out of my 2.6 Celica (hitting donuts so much speed). I wondered if i had tampered with something when i put the "junk" Rx7 together so i put the 2.6 motor in the "junk" Rx7. The thing barely moved with the 2.6 motor in it ( when on the charger it went 1.0 speed forward and 3.0 speed backwards). I put the 2.2 "junk" RX7 engine in the former Celica 2.6 chassis...THE THING IS HITTING DONUTS AGAIN. Super fast.
So my questions are:
1. Can engines/motors be "duds"?
2. Why is it running so slow on the charger base itself?
3. Would the frequency have anything to do with it? ( My first logical thought is NO)

don't worry i ran into the same problem as you. i got a bit char-g 2.2 motor and a bit char-g 2.6. the 2.2 blew the 2.6 by a long shot. after trying another bit char-g 2.6, the 2.2 still beat it. then when the kit racers went on sale at target for $1.98, i picked up a couple with the 2.6 motor in them.
then went home and tested them. the kit racer 2.6 blew away the bit char-g 2.2 AND bit char-g 2.6. for some reason the 2.6 from the kit racer was noticably faster than the bit char-g 2.6. i know what everyone will say that the 2.6 in the kit racer is the same exact thing as the bit char-g 2.6. but i don't think it is, i feel that the kit racer 2.6 is faster.

The thing with motors
Hey guys,
The thing with motors it that they don't all run exactly at the speed that they are rated. They all have a tolerance of +or- 2,000 RPMs. Therefore, a 2.2 motor could run anywhere from 20,000 RPMs to 24,000 RPMs and still be considered a good 2.2 motor. And, a 2.6 motor could run anywhere from 24,000 RPMs to 28,000 RPMs and still be considered a good 2.6 motor. So, it's possible that your 2.2 motor is very blessed and the 2.6 motor is cursed, making the outcome a 2.2 that is faster than a 2.6.
