Exclamation XMODS NOT Linear!

Unlike other cars, we discovered today that the XMODS are not a true linear response R/C car.

We are in the process of a complete reverse-engineering to diagram the schematics of the entire system to make available to the public. On doing the transmitter today we discovered the following:

1. The XMOD has 7 forward and 7 reverse speeds.
2. The steering has 15 possible angles in both directions as well as a center position.

Stay tuned for more info to come and full schematics for the TX, RX, ESC, and CCL!

Actualy it was known before the Xmod even hit the store shelves exactly how many steps though was not known, and its got more than I thought it had... but its still NOT enough for true racing control . -- try to count them on a mini-z

all you did was count the contacts on the PCB in the TX right?

No, I used a straight edge to find all the possible combinations of the metal tabs and how they contact the contact pads on the TX PCB. I also built a logic truth table that the Modulator chip uses to send the proper signal to the car. I'll have everything on the site on a week or so.
