Buying an LXX Booster, Need your help!

Hey guys, I just ordered an LXX booster set from Toyeast.com (Calsonic Skyline). Anyways, has anyone tried these? Are they reliable? I've seen both the booster controller and the regular controller, yet I don't see anything different. What is the difference? Thank you, and have a nice day.

Well, there's a little button on the top right of the booster controllers. When this is not pressed, your car will go fairly slow. But when it is pushed, your car will speed up to a 1-speed's pace. Why? The booster chassis are good for pretending you have 'NOS', and from what I hear they're excellent at tracks with a lot of turns.

Ive got the lxx auto modellista blue rx7.

ITS really good, the chassis is brill, and the boost works really well 2!

U get a rx body shell with that, and an unpainted skyline
shell, (from looking at pictures I think they all are skyline, loot at the rear wing)

I do think the shells are a bit thick, but nothing a dremel wont sort out!

With the supplied motor, it goes quite slow, then when u boost it flies off the table!

Im gonna b buying the 3,8 perfection motor in 2 weeks time, so I dont know what thats like yet.

Well I would tell u,but I dont feel like sharing at the mo.

LOL!

It has a NON -BLOB Chip RX6C then some other nos below it A9073 1C3

Realtek make it, the same brand as Tomy used in their standard bits, (DUNNO BOUT the boosters, tho , I assume it is).

I havent opened the transmitter, but I Imagine its TX6C !

I have the LXX auto modellista booster kit with a red supra and a clear skyline the car i ok its so slow without the boost but its quite fast with the boost mine came with a 3.0 motor i'm almost positive but the thing sucks at steering I think mine is mssed up. But the quality is ok other then the steering.
Its fun to rev the car using the boost

Does your car go straight?

or is it the steering is crap?

I made a tri cell extended chassis bit(noon boost), and to make it go straight (cos it always span to a side), I held a dremel cutting bit (the brittle brown/reddish thin disc) flat against a rear wheel while it was spinning.

Do this to the tyre until it loses its sheen.
Then do the other.

It should make a major improvement.

HOLD THE DISC WITH UR HAND, I DIDN'T actually use the DREMEL.

No the steering doesnt turn somtimes others it sticks to the side and you have to use your finger to get it to center up again

I'd have a CAREFUL look in the steering compartment, have a look here, its the basics, n what it should all look like.

@@Mayb one of the spring legs has came out of its slot@@,

or the magnet is loose, make sure that if the magnet does come out, it goes back in the same way, flipping it around = reveresed steering!

scottyboyfun,

Thanks for the info. That is the same chipset that the new (AM and Fairlady) booster sets use. I knew that RXs used chips and not blobs (Circuit On Board or COB package) and have been asking for this info since the LXX boosters hit the market. There is a feature in this chipset that would enable the booster function to go to low speed when left or right is pressed. Also one additional output and possibility 2. Intrested? I have the datasheet for this chipset. Shoot me an e-mail if you would like a copy. twolff69@hotmail.com

I just googled RX2C or TX2C. Got an assload of irrevelant hits. The one I got the datasheets from was a site that dealt with antenna construction for robot control. RealTek sold the TX/RX2C chipset to another company. These outfits are mostly in Asia, appear to be very protective about their products, and have some of the most worthless websites I've seen (all marketing drivel). I've got the TX/RX2C datasheet too. I wanted to mod a std. car into a booster. But, a specific pin on the RX chip needs to be grounded. I don't have enough Tomy RX PCB to start toasting them to attempt to find the right one. That task also makes the huge assumption that the required pin is bonded to the PCB. Important when you consider that the actual chip under the blob is just shy of 1.5mm square.
