Unhappy Smoking Xmod!!! 4562 fets?

My xmod started smoking, and i shut it off. After a few hours, i turned it back on, and it could only go in reverse and steer. It seems to me the forward fet is fried. After disassembling the car, i found burn marks around the fet closest to the rear of the car, under the circuit board.

My question is,is it possible to switch the two fet's so that i can still use my good reverse fet to go forwards? Each fet says A1792, but the (well, at least what i think) forward fet says 332 and the reverse one says 341. Not sure if it would work. Also, if i do upgrade the fet's to 4562 fets, and i choose to stack two of them, can i only do this for the forward fets? i rarely use reverse, just to back up from obstacles, so the current going in reverse will be much smaller. basically, can i choose to only replace the fried forward fet with an upgraded (or two) 4562 fet?

If it matters, i am running six cells. Any help would be appreciated.

yea sounds like you just blew one of your fets. id suggest replacing those fets with tha 4562 fets...it may be possible to switch the steering and drive fets but since you'll be soldering you might as well just upgrade them anyways. As for using only one 4562 fet, it wouldn't work. both fets work togetherwhen going forward and in reverse so you couldnt just upgrade one and not the other. i now that sumone brought this up in the the post on how to make Neuro's external fet upgrade...u could take a look at that if ya want but in my opinion, just replace and stack BOTH of them

Ok, i plan on ordering 4 SI4562DY fets. Are these the correct ones? also, all that is needed is a fine-tip for my soldering iron right? and finally, i looked, and the two fets are not the same. is it ok to replace them with the same ones? if both fets are used for forward, and only one for reverse, then doesnt the reverse one have to be special? Thanks, i just dont want to fry anything else on my xmod.

yea those are the right fets and a needle tip for hte soldering iron would be good cuz its kinda tricky desoldering the old fets...oh and dont forget to pick up a desoldering braid too...that'll help alot. but im still not sure of what you're talking about when you refer to the two fets that aren't the same. are you talkin bout the switchin the one bad drive fet for the one good drive fet? both of those fets are used for BOTH forward and reverse

it seems to me only one fet is burned, because there are only burn marks around that part of the heat sink. Also, that burned chip says A1792 and hten 332, where as the other (supposedly) still good oen says A1792 341. So i should replace both of these with the same SI4562DY fet?
