If you want it really magnetized, repeatedly rub a magnet from the handle of the screwdriver to the tip (always doing it in the same direction is the key).

the screwdriver that comes in the starter kit is already magnetized. You don't need to do anything to it.

yeah, i never use the starter kit screwdriver for turning. I got another one for that. The only thing i use the starter kit screwdriver for is to put the screw into the socket and get it started since it is magnetized.

agree, the one in the kit is garbage, like most tools from rs.

i bought a GREAT screwdriver kit , a stanley set with both flat and philips from size 0 (which is what you use) to like size 3 or something. they are very good quality with spinning caps on the end and soft rubber grips toward the tip. when you use them alot you will realize how nice these features are.
i also magnetized mine using drac's neo magnets.

Those are really nice. Even nicer than the similar Craftsman ones that I am using. (they lack the rubber grip at the bottom). I went a bit further and icked up nut drivers of the same type, but I haven't found any yet that are metric. The english ones work well enough to get the wheels on and off, though.

Most hardware stores sell magentizers for screwdrivers.

I have no idea how much they cost though, since I just use the one from work
