What mini-z parts are compatible with the x-mod?
Just looking for some general information on what parts can work with an x-mod. Both cars seem very similar, so I assume there are more than a few parts that can be interchanged, some requiring more work than others of course.

Bodies: Will NOT fit with out modification to the body mounts. Not all Mini-z bodies wheel basses are the same. So you may need to stretch or shorten the chassis on a Xmod.
Battery Clips: On the Original Mini-z the clips can fit with minor sanding or fileing. The MR-2 is a new design and not at all compatible.
Motors: Mini-z motors will physically fit in the Xmod but the stock electronics may not be able to handle the faster more powerful motors. Also you will need to invest in a Pinion puller form a hobby shop that sells the 1:24 scale slot cars to remove the brass pinion on the Xmods motor.
Tires: The rubber tires on the Mini-Z can fit but since the Xmods have a raised part in the center of the wheel that will have a raised center when installed.
Wheel Nuts: YES the 2mm Wheel nuts will fit perfectly. The only problem is the stock plastic wrench that came with the Xmods may not fit the nut to tighten it down.
More later as I get more info. Also keep an eye on the Xmods FAQ.

Thanks for the input CJ! I'm looking into getting some Mini Z's, and tinkering around with this concept.

Can mini-z rims fit on an Xmods? some alloys would be nice! Im dying to get an Xmod! Has anyone tried to make it a truck? A 4x4 which is what owners of Mini-z overlands wished they had! (overland owner ) Only time will tell before someone does all this. Oh btw What about Front Wheel Drive! LOL see if anyone can make that!

Front wheel drive has already been done and it isn't done by turning the motor around, as it wouldn't mount properly.
It's done by using the all wheel drive kit, and disabling the rear gears so that only the front are running. The downside to this seems to be that the steering becomes difficult..at least that's what I hear.
