what do you guys use to paint the bodies, just spraypaint?
Do you guys just use spraypaint?
I know how to do everything else, thin coats, how to mask areas off, etc. I was just wondering what type of paint you guys use

i used testors spray paint from hobby town and it works good cus its made for plastic. also you wont have to worry about testor model paints not sticking since its the same brand
for the windows i used just regular tan masking tape to keep the windows clear. and put some tape on the under side of the body to keep paint off the windows, some of the spray gets under and takes more time to get out

I use spray paints, Krylon does the job well, and dries quickly as well, Rustoleum is slightly thinner, so if you put on more than a few coats it will still flow into small areas well, but if you apply clear coats or additional coats you have to either apply them within 15 mins or 48 hours, or else you will experience a wrinkled paint job ( learned that the hard way ). Overall, I like Rustoleum a little better than krylon, but thats my opinion. I'd give both of those a try on your next opurtunity

They sell a tint paint at hobby shops but if you take some black non gloss paint and thin it out with airbrush thinner it should work just as well.

Almost all hobby shops that have testors paint have what is called clear colors, Such as clear blue, clear green, etc. just look and see if you can find a clear black

If you don't do it in 15 minutes, you must wait 48 hours before you can do anything else.

Another good tip for rattle cans is to get some hot water and submerge the can it in for about 10 minutes, this thins out the paint and lets it flow smoother. I use Dupli-Color automotive touch up spray can. Use very light coats. As for masking tape, I use Tamyia masking tape, a bit more expensive, but it has cleaner edges and doesn't let clear coats bleed thru.
