I have no clue were to post this.....
ok, does anybody know a good forums for 1/10 scale RCs? I took my 2nd trip to my LHS looking for a mini-Z, but suddenly i was converted to 1/10 scale, I have no clue wat to look for but don't worry i'll still stay true to Xmods and Bit Char-Gs scale RCs or until RS comes with something new...
BTW, a few last questions before I convert:
wat the heck are turns?
wats the Dif from a ESC and MSC?
wats a PCB?
wats is a ESC? or just SC? speed control right?

1. i have done the same thing(nitro losi XXX-NT ) i have found www.wildhobbies.com to be a very good site for 1/10 rc. you could also try rccaraction.com
2. a turn is one rotation of wire in the motor. it is one rotation around the armature.
3. i assume that an esc is electronic and a msc is mechanical(don't know much about electrics)
4. good question
5. yes. electronic speed control(ESC)
btw, what did you get converted over on?0 a car or a truck? if it is electric go to nitro, you will never return(its that much cooler! or hotter! ) i might like to talk to you on aim.
EDIT: btw, be prepared to spend some cash on 1/10! its adictive and fast!!

well one basic thing to know about turns is the less turns the more speed but less tourqe, the more turns less speed but more tourqe. Some ESC's can't handle some low turn motors and some dont have reverse. ESC's are not on nitro cars, and there are almost no electronics that you have to solder and stuff...its just like plug, fill, and play. you can keep on running nitros as long as you have the gas for it (nitro methane fuel with is liike abut $30 a gallon or so..) so its quite expensive... or you could go to electric but you have to keep on charging the batts...

$25 fir very good 20% nitro(recomended), and $15 for good 15% nitro. most engine manufacturers say not to go above 20%

mine says you "should" not go above 30% for regular playing around but 35% to 40% was good for racing. the higher % you go the more wear and tear is on your engine...i use 30% traxx nitro for mine...works like wonders..no problem so far..some fuels i heard to stay away from are blue thunder (i think dont remeber that much) becuase it doesn't have enough oil and will lessen the wear of you engine very quickly and make it sieze.

www.radiocontrolzone.com
If your just starting out id look at something like a HPI Sprint. Its RTR(ready to run). Its not all that fast stock but you can upgrade later. If your planning on racing id get something like a Team Associated TC3 or Losi XXX-S. If your going to go offroad look into a E-Maxx(electric monster truck) or Stadium trucks like the Associated T3 and T4 or the Losi XXX-T.
www.teamlosi.com
www.hpiracing.com
www.teamassociated.com
www.towerhobbies.com (way cheaper than your LHS but its better to support your LHS if you can)
