What do i need to paint my Xmod

i painted my skyline black with an airbrush and used Testors Gloss cote on it it did not come out good at all and the tape i used to tape stuff like lights the paint went inside of it i used clear tape. When i used my airbrush i mixed the paint with thiner but it made the paint water like and the paint started driping off the car and the gloss i used was not that shiny. Can someone please tell me what stuff i should use and where i can get it i got all my supplies from Michals what store can i get tamiya paint from i Liked how it woked on Bad companys car also can someone post pics so i can see how every thing is taped and so i can see the materials used please someone help me
Also what can i use to get paint off is there any thing else besides airbrus that i can use

Thanks

go to an automotive shop and pick up some dupli-color paint. they sell it in little bottles for like $3 its made to run in an airbrush and its real auto paint so the clear coat will give you the shine your looking for.

As for masking, I used....you guessed it....Tamyia masking tape. Believe me, I don't work for these guys, but they make awesome hobby supplies. I've used 3M masking tape before, and it just bled and what not. The Tamiya tape has very clean edges. You will mostly only find it in hobby stores.

Look here for a Tamiya retailer in your area...

Heh, I hear ya. I used to do modeling (not me, the plastic ones), and all I bought was Tamyia Kits, Paint, etc.....A-1 products.

I use "testors" spray paint. The paint is really nice and dries quickly but the colors are very "flat" looking. I am going to use tamiya paints soon.

The Tamiya spray paints (TS) have a nice gloss even without the gloss sprayed on.

same prob, my paintjob got royally screwed. The clearcoat basically buckled the paint underneath.......now i somehow have to remove it all.........any ideas? It looked so nice before I clearcoated it now its a mess and hopefully not a total loss. This is so depressing!

At my LHS (Local Hobby Store), one can 100ml can goes for $4.95. One can should do one Xmod body, but I use two because I don't like being at the end of the can and have it start spattering when it gets low. The results are IMO well worth the cost.

I will be painting my RSX in the next couple days, I can post oics then of the masking. Basically, what I do is lat the masking tape across the windows and press it down. Then I use an x-acto knife to gently cut around the windows, and remove the tape on the outside of the windows.

As for painting the body kit parts, If you are going to leave them on, then paint it all together. If you plan to change parts later, do it seperate. If you paint them together, the paint might chip at the edges the parts meet when you go to pull it apart.
