This isn't really a mod, 'just simply a way to put SE lightsets on regular bodies.
Things you need
1.A regular ZZ body you would like to add a light set to
2.Another ZZSE body you could care less for with light set
3.Good knife and precision philips screw driver(1/16 I think)
1. Now take your favorite body and use a knife or a paint stripper you know can work on acrylic paint, and VERY CAREFULLY begin scraping(or using stripper) on the paint on the headlights. (If you make a few unwanted scratches on the body that's okay, you might be able to use a tooth pick and acrylic paint to fill in the scratches later, if you plan on doing this to something like a herbie body, it won't be hard not to scratch the body.)
2. As for the tail lights, just leave them that way, the bulbs are so bright and red you won't need to scrape them.
3. Now take a precision philips and unscrew the light set from another SE body, once the light set is unscrewed, use a flathead screwdriver to CAREFULLY pick the glue off of the rods on the lights. Now use electrical tape to put the light set in the underside of the regular body, use plenty, and make sure the light bulbs are where they should be.(You can use super glue gel to glue the bulb's rods into place.) And TADAH, you have a light set on a non-SE body. (If one of the bulbs don't work, you probably broke it and you'll have to try ripping out a another light set from another body.)
I have included a photo of a mustang body I did this to,
I have also done this to a Herbie, '03 Corvette, and a Mario kart body too, and it's a real blast. The light sets aren't for 1st edition Zipzaps.(As you may have noticed.
